  • Patent number: 7145810
Abstract: A high density memory is disclosed wherein multiple memory cells are placed in a single cell region. To accommodate the multiple memory cells, multiple bit lines are provided. Also provided is a multiplexer circuit that is coupled to the multiple bit lines. When the memory cells in a region are activated by a common word line, they put their stored data bits onto the multiple bit lines. The multiplexer circuit then selects one of the bit lines, and provides the data bit on that bit line to a latch. In one implementation, the multiplexer circuit comprises a plurality of bit line circuits, and each bit line circuit comprises a precharge circuit, a precharge control circuit, a data sensing circuit, and a sensing control circuit. These components of the bit line circuits help to ensure that the memory operates effectively and without data corruption.

  • Patent number: 6091261
Abstract: The invention is a system that provides programmable clock delays for logic circuits. The system makes use of the boundary-scan register chain incorporated into logic devices for testing purposes. In the invention, delay code values are loaded through the boundary-scan register chain into delay code registers. The delay codes are then used to program the value of delay elements in the logic circuit. An evaluation logic circuit can be included to compare the output data with an expected test pattern and thereby verify the acceptability of the delay values. The invention thereby allows delays to be adjusted to correct functionality and/or optimize circuit performance without requiring modifications to the circuit design.

  • Patent number: 5862085
Abstract: A circuit for comparing a first digital word to a second digital word includes a precharge circuit to generate an initial match signal, an initial inverse match signal, and a virtual ground signal in response to an input clock signal and an inverse input clock signal. Each comparison circuit of a set of comparison circuits generates a computed match signal and a computed inverse match signal based upon a selected bit of the first digital word and a corresponding selected bit of the second digital word. A signal differential sensing circuit derives a match signal for the first digital word and the second digital word based upon the virtual ground signal, the input clock signal, the computed match signal, and the computed inverse match signal.

  • Patent number: 5118917
Abstract: A micro-working of the surface is obtained by focussing a laser beam on a surface of a workpiece and subjecting the laser beam and the workpiece to a relative reciprocating movement in which material evaporates from the surface while forming a plasma plume. The relative movement of the laser beam and the workpiece occurs in steps smaller than the diameter of the focus of the laser beam, so that the laser beam moves over the same piece of surface area in an overlapping manner and radiates the same.
