    Abstract: A continuous process for the spinning of twistless yarn from staple fibres which comprises the steps of:A. drafting a sliver or roving containing not more than 80% by weight, based on the weight of fibre, of a liquid containing a dispersed potential binding agent as herein defined,B. consolidating the drafted sliver or roving,C. rendering the potential binding agent adhesive,D. drying the yarn, andE. winding the yarn.The potential binding agent which may be starch, a starch derivative or a synthetic polymer dispersion may be rendered adhesive by dielectric heat, radiant heat, heated vapor or by polymerization or by breaking labile cross-links. The size of the particles of the potential binding agent is preferably not greater than the average fibre diameter.
