Willem L. Sederel has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 4617345
Abstract: The invention relates to polymer mixtures which comprise an aromatic polycarbonate resin, a block copolymer, and a graft copolymer. The polymer mixtures according to the invention have a good impact strength, in particular at low temperatures, and do not show any delamination phenomena when injection molded.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 31, 1985
Date of Patent: October 14, 1986
    Assignee: General Electric Company
    Inventor: Willem L. Sederel
  • Patent number: 4595633
Abstract: The invention relates to information carriers for optically readable information. The information carrier is built up from an actual carrier and a metal layer provided thereon. The actual carrier is manufactured from a polycarbonate resin consisting of a mixture of an aromatic polycarbonate, an epoxy compound and usual additives. The presence of an epoxy compound in the polycarbonate resin results in a better bonding between the metal layer and the polycarbonate resin. In order to be able to manufacture the actual carrier by means of injection molding, it is to be preferred to use a polycarbonate having a weight-averaged molecular weight from 10,000 to 20,000.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4504623
Abstract: A method of preparing a polymer mixture comprising polyvinyl chloride, an aromatic polycarbonate and a rubber like polymeric, characterized in that first a premixture comprising 60-90% by weight of aromatic polycarbonate and 10-40% by weight of rubber like polymer is prepared by mixing at a temperature above about 220.degree. C., after which the resulting premixture is cooled to a temperature below about 220.degree. C. and is mixed with the polyvinyl chloride.

    Assignee: General Electric Company
Inventors: Jean M. H. Heuschen, Jan Bussink, Willem L. Sederel
  • Patent number: 4504624
Abstract: A polymer mixture comprising polyvinyl chloride, an aromatic polycarbonate and a rubber like polymer, characterized in that the rubber like polymer is a graft copolymer which is built up from a rubber like main chain with predominantly alkyl acrylate units on which styrene, .alpha.-methylstyrene, acrylonitrile, methacrylic acid esters, acrylic acid esters or mixtures thereof have been grafted.
