  • Patent number: 5901006
Abstract: An apparatus for recording an information signal in a track on the record carrier, such as, a helical scan video recorder, includes an input terminal (36) for receiving the information signal, a signal processor (10) for converting the information signal into a form in which it can be recorded on the record carrier (1) and a writing unit (30,32,34) for writing the converted information signal in the track on the record carrier. Further, the apparatus includes a unit for establishing the total length of the record carrier, viewed in time, a unit for establishing the actual position of the writing unit along the record carrier, viewed in time, and a unit (5,6) for transporting the record carrier. For recording an information signal of specific duration (T.sub.2), on the record carrier (1), the record carrier is transported to a specific position along the record carrier for which holds that the remaining time for recording, at that specific position, substantially corresponds to the specific duration (T.sub.

  • Patent number: 5444675
Abstract: An adapter, for enabling signals produced by a signal source to be reproduced as audio sounds by a cassette player audio system having a cassette audio playback deck of the front-loading type or the side-loading type, includes a housing of a configuration of a cassette normally used with the playback deck, a record head supported in a peripheral front wall of the housing, an electrical conductor located partly within the housing and extending from the housing, the conductor having one end electrically coupled to the record head. The housing includes a first opening in a peripheral side wall of the housing, for enabling the conductor to extend from the adapter from the sidewall thereof, such that the adapter may be used with a playback deck of the side-loading type. The housing further includes a preformed second opening, which is closed by a closure, which is located in a peripheral rear wall of the housing.

  • Patent number: 5371634
Abstract: An arrangement for reading a digital audio signal from a master medium (7) and storing it in a digital storage medium (10, 90, 90') at a first bit rate in a first step, and for repeatedly reading the digital audio signal from the storage medium and recording the digital audio signal on a recording medium (20') at a second bit rate in a second step. The digital storage medium is adapted to store a digital information signal which is a representation of a first music program (M1) and a digital information signal which is a representation of a second music program (M2). The arrangement (FIG. 1b) is further adapted to repeatedly read the digital information signal representing the first music program from the digital storage medium while reading the digital information signal representing the second music program into the digital storage medium in the second step.
