  • Patent number: 8326906
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for use with multiple input, multiple output (MIMO) signal processing techniques, which reduce the amount of memory and memory bandwidth used to store and access filter coefficients by compressing a filter coefficient based at least in part on one or more neighboring filter coefficients for storage and decompressing the filter coefficients when retrieved. The decompressed filter coefficients can be used with a MIMO filtering technique, and/or can be used to compress or decompress additional coefficients.

Date of Patent: December 4, 2012
    Assignee: Positron Access Solutions, Inc.

  • Publication number: 20080198909
Abstract: A multi-channel communication transceiver configured to communicate over multiple channels, such as multiple twisted pair conductors, and implement MIMO processing is disclosed. The MIMO processing occurs in a separate MIMO co-processor, which may be a DSP type processor executing machine readable code or a dedicated MIMO filter. The MIMO co-processor may be located on a separate integrated circuit and interface with the transceiver via one or more data paths and one or more control data paths. Control data is exchanged to facilitate processing of the data in the MIMO filter. A slicer output or an error term, may be forwarded to the MIMO co-processor or generated within the co-processor.

  • Patent number: 7106860
Abstract: A system and method is presented for enciphering information using the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm in which a subprocessor is configured to manipulate data as it is being loaded into the subprocessor memory. Thus, unlike implementations in the prior art, which require complete loading of data into a subsystem memory before data manipulation thereby creating a potential bottleneck in memory, this invention reduces the potential bottleneck in memory.
