  • Patent number: 6207930
Abstract: A device for separating a meltable wide strip (10) using fusion cutters (21) which cut the strips (10′) during longitudinal movement of said wide strip by melting the strip material. In order to smooth rough melted edges of strips (10′) a finishing device is used. A conveyor device is used to transport the wide strip and keeps at least the section (40) to be processed of the strip (10′) which is located in the finishing zone, under longitudinal stress. To simplify the design of the device, the finishing device is provided with deviation points (71, 70, 72) in the section (40) to be processed. The deviation points are fixed and include an open slit (25) through which the section (40) to be processed passes. The expansion of the processing section (40) is twisted by virtue of the deviating members (23, 33). The longitudinal stress is therefore exerted in such a way that the upper and lower side of the strips (10′) are automatically pressed against the deviating members (23, 33).

  • Patent number: 5112420
Abstract: Chains of coherent labels for use on garments are obtained by severing a running web of woven or knit textile material with heated wires so that the web yields two or more elongated strips having a width exceeding the width of a label. The strips are advanced under tension, and their marginal portions are folded over the adjacent zones of central portions of the respective strips. The thus folded marginal portions are thereupon bonded (particularly heat-sealed) to the respective central portions. The combined width of two marginal portions matches the difference between the width of a strip and the width of a label. Each strip consists of a series of neighboring labels.

  • Patent number: 4577665
Abstract: An automatic narrow-fabric needle loom weaving system employing a hook secured to the mounting plate of the loom on the side thereof into which the needle enters the shed and around which the weft thread is wound in order to form a straight edge without contraction of the warp threads during beat-up on the side of the woven material opposite the knitted selvage edge produced by a latching needle pick. An improved weft thread feed is provided with a simple, relatively inexpensive mechanical drive disk that can be easily adjusted to vary the amount of weft thread fed during each pick. A weft thread support spring structure provides tensioning support for the weft thread and reduces wear on the leaf spring members. An improved header frame assembly prevents undesired twisting of the header elements and makes it easier for a technician to change the machine over from one weaving pattern to the next. Eccentrically mounted drive disks are provided for the respective sets of oppositely reciprocated header frames.
