  • Patent number: 4976409
Abstract: A picture frame stand has a pedestal and tubular sleeve vertically mounted from the pedestal. An open vertical slot extends along a substantial length of the sleeve which houses a pole mounted for vertical movement in the sleeve. A screw is anchored near the lower end of the pole and is positioned for slideable movement in the slot and a nut is mounted on this screw for holding the pole in a fixed position in the slot when the desired height of the pole is reached. Accordingly, the adjustment of the pole in the sleeve is obtained by loosening the nut and moving the screw up and down in the slot. A peg is provided on the upper end of the pole adapted to receive a picture hanger. The hanger has a general horseshoe configuration terminated in a plate which is mounted on a picture frame. The plate has a horizontal slot therein with the screw positioned in the slot permitting horizontal movement of the hanger on the frame for providing an adjustment.

  • Patent number: 4539831
Abstract: A crankshaft rolling machine includes a pair of model crankshafts mounted for synchronous rotation. One or more crankshaft rolling units are coupled to the model crankshafts in a manner enabling adjustment of the units along a linear path to adapt the device to the stroke length of a crankshaft to be rolled. The apparatus may be rapidly changed for rolling of crankshafts having different stroke lengths by linearly sliding the individual rolling units relative to the model cranks and thereafter locking the individual rolling units to the model cranks at positions corresponding with the stroke length of the crankshaft to be rolled.

  • Patent number: 4485537
Abstract: Known machines for the machining of crankshafts, in which the machining units for the machining of the crankshaft are supported and moved by operating crankshafts, are not adjustable to different offset angles of crankshafts to be machined. Therefore a machine is proposed for the machining of crankshafts with means for the guiding and taking along of a crankshaft to be machined and with at least two movable devices for the uptake of machining tools or systems, the devices being supported and moved by crankpins of two driven operating crankshafts consisting of several cranks and mounted on main bearing pins, where the individual cranks of each operating crankshaft are fixable relatively to each other and comprise two independent main bearing pins each and are mounted thereon for rotation relative to each other.

  • Patent number: 4405266
Abstract: The present invention relates to a deep drilling machine including an elongate base, a headstock at one end, a tailstock at the other end, each of the headstock and tailstock being shiftable axially of the base by drive device interposed between the base and each of the headstock and tailstock. A coolant supply apparatus having a chuck member is interposed between the headstock and tailstock at a central position along the base. Devices are provided for enabling the chuck member of the coolant supply devices selectively to face the headstock or the tailstock as desired. The chuck of the headstock is provided with drive device. By the foregoing arrangement a chuck member may be oriented toward the headstock or the tailstock whereby the device may be set up such that either the workpiece or the drilling tool is rotated without the necessity for providing drive device at both the headstock and tailstock ends of the device.

  • Patent number: 4195957
Abstract: A boring tool having a tool head rotatable about its axis and movable in direction of the axis along a working stroke and a return stroke. A knife having a pair of opposite cutting edges is floatingly mounted in a slot of the tool head extending transverse to the axis thereof and tiltable in the slot between a working position and a withdrawal position in which the cutting edges of the knife project a smaller distance beyond the periphery of the tool head than in the working position to prevent damage of the machined surface during the return stroke of the tool head.
