  • Patent number: 6302496
Abstract: The present invention relates to a load-responsive brake force regulator which, for the installation into the vehicle, has a clearance compensation element in the shape of an elastomeric element that automatically moves the actuating lever into the required stop position. After the installation of the brake force regulator into the vehicle, a fixing device is fixed on the pin by means of a screw so that a defined distance is adjusted between the housing of the brake force regulator and the end of a load-responsively acting tension spring. The rubber band is redundant after the fixation. In contrast to the state of the art which proposes the provision of a clearance compensation spring on the lever-side end of the pin and, after fixation, the dissection of the pin at its redundant end by way of a nominal breaking point, the present invention prevents damage to the pin due to transport or improper handling because no nominal breaking point is required.

  • Publication number: 20010028170
Abstract: A tube nut and a threaded connection between a brake hose and a brake line, as well as a tool for tightening and loosening the tube nut according to the invention are proposed. The tube nut according to the invention permits high torque levels to be transmitted between the tube nut and the tool. In addition, the space required for assembly is reduced.

  • Patent number: 5499570
Abstract: Retaining element fixed within the piston opening which avoid any inadvertant extraction of the piston rod from the piston. The design provides a safe and easy to assemble means for fastening the piston rod within the piston which is capable of absorbing considerable tractive forces of said piston rod through said piston. The retaining member is preferably made of plastic material which resides between the piston rod and the piston.

  • Patent number: 5161376
Abstract: An arrangement and process for adjusting a supply valve closing in a tandem piston master cylinder is disclosed. The tandem piston master cylinder includes a piston stroked by engagement with an operating rod and a spaced floating piston driven by an interposed return spring, the floating piston captured by the rod engaged piston during the return stroke by a headed screw abutting a projection at the end of a bore within the screw head moves during relative movement between the pistons. Supply valves are opened and closed by the position of each piston. The piston relative positions are adjusted to achieve proper supply valve closing by rotation of the rod engaged piston while fixing the floating piston against rotation which rotates the screw thread which also slightly varies the precompression of the return spring. This adjustment selectively controls the point of closing of the supply valve associated with the floating piston relative the position of the rod operated piston.

  • Patent number: 4833749
Abstract: A heel support device for use in a shoe making machine for forming the toe and sides of a shoe upper tensioned over a last seated on a last support include a guide fixed with respect to the machine. A heel support member is mounted for movement guided by the guide by a drive to a supporting position whereat the heel support member bears against and supports a heel portion of the last or heel portion of the upper tensioned therearound. A switch is operatively connected to the drive and is actuated by the heel support member reaching the supporting position to stop operation of the drive upon movement of the heel support member to the supporting position. As a result, the heel support member cannot move the last from a predetermined position.

  • Patent number: 4816950
Abstract: A strip of easily magnetizable material of low remanence, having magnetic properties equal to or better than those of the core of the magnetic heads on a revolving headwheel of a video tape machine is provided as a magnetic shunt for each head, disposed in the neighborhood of the core gap, but spaced therefrom at a distance much greater than the gap width, for reducing the spread of stray flux when the head is used for recording and intercepting stray flux from other heads when the head is in the playback mode. Among the many ways in which the shunt can be provided are individual bridge strip mounted on the headwheel to bridge over each head laterally, a horseshoe-shaped strip covering the annular gap in which the headwheel revolves for the portions of that gap over which the tape passes, but spaced away from the tape, and strips mounted on the stationary guide drums or embedded in the headwheel periphery.

  • Patent number: 4709551
Abstract: A pressure cylinder is disclosed having at least one master cylinder piston, provided with a compensating bore which is in connection with opposite sides of the piston and which is closable by a valve piston movable relative to the master cylinder piston. The valve piston is fastened at the end of an extensible central tension element which projects into the pressure chamber of the pressure cylinder and secures through two spring retainers a piston return spring at the master cylinder piston. In order to reduce the idle travel of the master cylinder, the distance between a stop and an abutment face on a flange of the cylinder is first determined and then added to a predetermined functional distance desired to be maintained between the abutment face and a pressure surface on an actuating piston, so that an assembled dimension is determined. The extensible element is adjusted during assembly to position the pressure surface spaced from the stop equal to the assembled dimension.
