  • Publication number: 20080277432
Abstract: In order to ensure easy handling as well as cost-effective production of an assist device for doffing stockings, in particular compression stockings, it is proposed to configure the assist device with two rod-shaped sliding elements, where a front end of each rod-shaped sliding elements is connected to a top circular border of the stocking at diametrically opposite positions in a form-fitting and force-fitting manner, and where the stocking can be rolled off and/or slid off the leg and/or foot by sliding the sliding elements in the direction of the foot and over the foot.

  • Patent number: 6219862
Abstract: A device (10) for movement/transport of, in particular, a handicapped person (12), including a transport device such as a patient lifter or lifting unit with a holder (16) in which a slide rail (20), from which attachments for a carrying sling (14) extend, moves under gravity.

  • Patent number: 5960909
Abstract: The invention relates to a person lifter (10), particular a pool lifter, including a rotatable column (12) that begins at a base mount (22), and with a person holder (18), such as a seat or gurney, that can be raised or lowered by a lifting arm (16) along the longitudinal axis (14) of the column. In order to stop the person holder in the event of a malfunction, or if the lowering speed of the person holder is excessively high, the lifting arm (16) begins at a first driven belt (conveyor belt) (26) guided in the column (12), parallel to which a second belt (28) (catch belt) guided in the column and joined to the lifting arm (16) is arrested if the lowering speed of the person holder exceeds a predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 5649329
Abstract: A patient carrier unit for a person lifting and transporting device comprising a first and a second section mounted on opposite sides of a vertical shaft and capable to rotate with respect to a holding device. The first section including a belt for supporting the upper body portion of a person and the second section including a belt for supporting the legs of the person, the second section including an eletrical drive for changing the vertical position of the leg supporting belt.

  • Patent number: 5240213
Abstract: A holder for mounting a guide rail on a ceiling comprises a carrier defining a plane and comprised of two separate and unconnected plates attachable to the ceiling and defining a gap therebetween completely separating the two plates from each other. Guide rail holding extensions on the carrier plates at opposite sides of the gap have parts extending in a plane parallel to the carrier plane, the holding extension parts symmetrically projecting into, and engaging, grooves in the guide rail. The guide rail holding extensions have distal inclined abutment faces facing away from the groove-engaging parts, and a single wedge element is arranged between the inclined abutment faces in mating contact with therewith and wedged therebetween below the gap. Lock screws pass vertically and centrally through the wedge element and through the guide rail for affixing the guide rail to the holder, the lock screws being freely accessible through the gap between the carrier plates.

  • Patent number: 5138953
Abstract: The object of the invention is a transportation device (1) with a load carrier (3) having on its upper side supports (6) running vertically upwards. Rollers (9, 10) are provided on the ends of the supports, with which the load carrier (3) is attached in suspended and movable fashion from a rail (2). The load carrier contains a winch (72) with a belt (82) for suspended loads. A drive motor (60) is provided to move the load carrier along the rail (2). A further drive motor (63) powers the winch (72). The switches (61, 62) for the drive motors (60, 63) are provided with pneumatically operable switching elements (89). The compressed air for the switching elements is generated by a control element (99) operable by hand that is connected to the load carrier (3) via air lines (98). In the inside of the rail (2) are current paths against which carbon brushes (44, 45) are pressed that are arranged staggered in the longitudinal direction of the rail (2).
