  • Patent number: 4852249
Abstract: A process and device for the length trimming of cables from a cable supply for the processing of cable ends. The cable front end is inserted by a cable feed (20, 22) in a guide channel whose rear section is located in a swivel part (28). As the cable front end impinges on a stop (102) on the swivel part (28), said swivel part swings beyond a dead center which is defined by a spring (40) which is attached eccentrically, whereafter the swivel part (8) is swung around by the spring (40) essentially 180.degree. so that the cable front end bearing on the stop (102) points opposite to the feed direction. The cable loop formed is then enlarged to the desired length by continued cable feeding, whereafter the cable rear end is severed by a knife (82). By lowering the cable, the cable ends are transferred, accurately positioned, to holders (56) by means of which they can be transported to the processing stations.

  • Patent number: 4650131
Abstract: A method and a device for winding wire spools for electric machines allow rapid change of the delivery spools (28, 28a). The wire lead of a new delivery spool is affixed in a holder (48, 48a) ready for the connection. The remainder of wire length of the preceding delivery spool is measured and winding nozzle (14) of the winding device is stopped at the time point when the wire length required for completion of a spool is found between the winding nozzle and the attachment point (48, 56). Then wire (20) is cut off at the attachment point, and the wire end to the rear is connected by means of a wire connection unit (56) with the ready wire lead of the next delivery spool.

  • Patent number: 4563962
Abstract: A stator or rotor for electrical machines is described whose winding overhangs are in each case bound with a single thread at one end, the intertwinings of all the loops formed from the thread being situated at the radially internal side of the winding overhangs. In the method proposed for producing such a stator or rotor, thread loops are drawn from radially outside alternately through below the winding overhangs and over the winding overhangs, and then intertwined at the radially internal sides of these, in that through each loop there is drawn the loop formed next. An apparatus suitable for carrying out this method has a needle with an eye at the forward end, which is taken alternately under and over the winding overhangs in the radial direction into the working region of a hook which is adapted to be moved rectilinearly and axially at the radially internal side of the winding overhangs.

  • Patent number: 4544315
Abstract: A method of separating at least one sheet metal element from the lower end of a stack (4) of apertured sheet metal elements, the separation comprising utilizing in motion phases two tool parts (1, 2), the method comprising:(a) a first motion phase, wherein sheet metal elements become sufficiently shifted by translation and/or rotation relative to one another at a separation plane of the stack that those elements do not inter-engage at their apertures; and(b) a second motion phase, wherein below the plane, the shifted sheet metal element(s) is(are) lowered from the plane, this lowering being such that in a third motion phase, those lowered element(s) will become completely separated from the rest of the stack by being further shifted sideways; wherein in the method:(i) sheet metal elements to be separated are gravitationally lowerable; and(ii) sheet metal element(s) remaining in the stack during the second motion phase is(are) held by support provided at the bottom surface of the remaining stack.

  • Patent number: 4439100
Abstract: A device for separating and taking off of one or more notched stamped sheets from a stack of sheets located in a receiving magazine is provided. A tool having first and second tool parts which are movable relative to one another is used to remove the sheets. The first tool part includes a first surface which engages the notched sheets to cause the sheets to slide on one another in the plane of separation. The sliding movement of the sheets is of a limited distance such that the sheets do not come into engagement in the region of their notches. A second surface is also provided on the first or second tool part for engaging and applying pressure against at least one location of the sheets which is exposed during the relative sliding movement between the sheets. In this manner, the sliding sheets are separated from one another in a direction normal to the plane of separation and thereafter a relative transverse movement between the sliding sheets can take place without danger of catching.

  • Patent number: 4393904
Abstract: Apparatus for winding stators or the like includes a winding form and a winding nozzle, rotatable about the form, for winding a wire on the form. A collecting tool or transfer tool is provided for receiving windings from the form, a stripper is provided to strip windings from the form onto the collecting tool and a clamping means is provided for clamping a wire between individual winding operations. The apparatus includes means for simultaneously moving the winding nozzle, stripping means and clamping means during the stripping of the windings from the form onto the collecting tool. Thus, the wire from the last-wound windings will be prevented from being drawn to a finer diameter when stripped from the form or it will not be necessary to pull additional wire out of the winding nozzle in which event, on starting the next winding process, there would be a strong jerk which could result in breakage.

  • Patent number: 4269235
Abstract: Method and apparatus for sequentially winding a plurality of windings on a winding form and for transferring the windings sequentially from the winding form to a collecting tool such that the plurality of windings are disposed on a collecting tool for subsequent collection axially through an aperture of a stator sheet packet positioned in adjacency with said collecting tool. In accordance with the invention, during the transition from winding one winding on the form and winding the next winding on the form, the winding wire is held clamped at a point within the peripheral region of the windings disposed on the collecting tool to be drawn through the aperture during subsequent collection.

  • Patent number: 4265012
Abstract: Apparatus for collecting windings in a stator or the like includes a collecting tool having collecting lamellae disposed in a ring, an aligning star piece, and means for moving the aligning star piece from a retracted position to an alignment position between the lamellae. The apparatus also includes means for moving a stator sheet packet having an aperture therethrough into position with the aperture adjacent the free ends of the lamellae. In accordance with the invention, the apparatus includes means for moving the aligning star piece from its retracted position through the aperture in the sheet packet and then into its alignment position to align the stator sheet packet and the ring of lamellae. The apparatus has many advantages over conventional devices in which the aligning star piece is first aligned with the ring of lamellae and in which the stator sheet packet is subsequently applied and aligned.
