  • Publication number: 20020136656
Abstract: A positive-displacement pump including a rotating vein disposed within a pump housing. The rotating vein is driven by a rotating drive shaft and the rotating vein is radially displaceable relative to the drive shaft wherein the ends of the rotating vein carry sealing strips that adjoin an inner wall of the pump housing. At least one energy storage device is included for engaging the vein and holding the sealing strips in sealing contact with the housing.

  • Publication number: 20010055538
Abstract: A vane pump or motor has structural features for ensuring a substantially constant relationship between rotor vanes (30) and a surrounding wall 44) of a rotor chamber (15) of a stator (16). This is done by changing shapes of either the surrounding wall or the guide tracks to be out of round such that, during a full rotation, the arrangement of the rotor vanes (30) to the surrounding wall (44) remains the same. That is, a diameter (b) of the rotor chamber (15) in an axial plane (a-a), defined by maximum and minimum radial movement of a rotor vane (30), is greater than a diameter (c) perpendicular thereto, or a diameter (d) of the guide tracks (59) perpendicular to the axial plane is greater than a diameter (e) lying in the axial plane (a-a) of the guide tracks (59). An intake and an exhaust are provided in one of two symmetrical sections of the rotor chamber (15) defined by the axial plane (a-a). Elastic guide rings, rotatable with the rotor, can also be used.

  • Patent number: 6264449
Abstract: A plastic toothed wheel for a toothed wheel pump comprises a wheel body (20) having external or internal teeth. To keep the weight of this toothed wheel as low as possible, its teeth (26) have at least one cavity (32) accessible from at least one end face of the tooth. Toothed wheel pumps having such toothed wheels for supplying and pressurizing engine oil in automotive vehicle engines avoid splashing losses caused by the cavities (32) by closing the cavities or filling them up with a temperature and media resistant foam material (66).

  • Patent number: 6077265
Abstract: A nail for fixing the position and shape of broken long bones is provided. The nail has a longitudinal shank defining a central main body and longitudinal extending, radially directed, ribs, preferably one or more. The nail and ribs are collapsed in diameter when inserted into the broken bone and then, by introducing a fluid into the hollow nail, the diameter of the nail increases such that the rib(s) contact the interior of the broken bone.

  • Patent number: 6068133
Abstract: A system for separating non-magnetizable metals from a mixture of solid with a feed device; an endless conveyor belt with belt drums supported on a frame, of which the head drum at the discharge end is provided with a driven, eccentrically mounted and adjustable magnet rotor; and a separation area downstream of the head drum. To improve the degree of separation achieved, the system is provided with a vibrating channel (2) with an additional slope; means for adjusting the speed of the conveyor belt (3); means for generating a variable force of repulsion (Fvar); a controlled rotational speed adjustment unit (nvar) for the magnet rotor (3.4); and adjustable separating elements (4.1, 4.2, 4.3), each of which is located between two adjacent throwing parabolas of the separated fractions.

  • Patent number: 6025537
Abstract: A nail for fixing the position and shape of broken long bones is provided. The nail has a shank having a central main body and longitudinal chamber-like expansion elements attached to the central main body which are expandable while in situ. The expansion elements run substantially the length of the shank and are preferably arranged substantially equiangularly around the central main body. When the expansion elements are expanded, a cross-section of the central main body is expanded. The central main body may be provided with channels into which the expansion elements may be disposed.

  • Patent number: 5102293
Abstract: Two vertically displaceable slides (5, 9) carry in horizontally movable fashion a tabletop (1) and, respectively, a gripper with an upper gripper jaw (6) and a gripper base (7). The gripper base (7) contains a horizontally displaceable blade (12) and supporting elements (24, 25) which are horizontally displaceable and also vertically movable with respect to the blade (12). A Stack of sheets is set up in front of the tabletop (1). The slides (5, 9) are lowered until the upper gripper jaw (6) rests on the sheet stack. The blade (12), previously retracted into the gripper base (7), is then made to pierce the stack of sheets at an exactly settable distance below the upper gripper jaw (6). The slides (5, 9) are slightly elevated in order to form a gap in the sheet stack with the blade (12). The supporting elements (24, 25) are pushed into the gap below the blade (12), and are then urged upwardly past the level of the blade (12) so that they alone bear the weight of the sheets resting thereon.

  • Patent number: 4149642
Abstract: A refuse compacting mechanism is provided in the container of a refuse wagon. The mechanism includes a series of bars transversely oriented on the floor of the container and a pusher mechanism at the rear of the container. Uncompacted refuse falls into the container rearwardly of the bars and is pushed toward and compacted against the rearmost bar by the pusher mechanism. As additional refuse is added and compacted, the previously compacted mass topples forwardly over the rearmost bar to be further compacted against the next bar. Preferrably, the bars are connected to endless chains and may be moved rearwardly in unison to aid in unloading compacted refuse from the container.

  • Patent number: 4055258
Abstract: A sheet material de-stacking machine for removing a partial stack from a stack of sheet material includes a table top horizontally movably mounted on a frame, a drivable separating roller adjacent a front edge of the table top which is to be inserted into the stack of sheet material, and, in addition, a gripping device horizontally mounted on said frame for gripping and holding an edge of said partial stack at least during a final stage of the introduction of the table top between the partial stack and the remaining stack of sheet material. The gripping device comprises upper and lower gripping jaws which are both vertically slidably mounted in a carrier or support that is in turn movably mounted on the machine frame. A hydraulic drive means may be provided for moving the jaws towards one another, or the jaws may be set at a fixed predetermined distance.

  • Patent number: 4055261
Abstract: A re-stacking device for stacking partial stacks of sheet material into a complete stack is disclosed. The device includes a slide mounted for raising and lowering on a machine support and carrying a table top which is horizontally movable back and forth between two end positions. A partial stack is placed on the table top in one of its end positions and moved with it to the other end position above a started stack supported on a stationary carrier. In this other end position the slide is lowered until the table top is a short distance above the top of the started stack. Hydraulically operated clamps are then moved toward the forward edge of the partial stack, and closed to grip this forward edge, whereupon the table top is horizontally withdrawn from under the partial stack so that the latter is deposited on the said started stack. Thereafter, the clamps are opened and withdrawn from the stack.
