  • Patent number: 9976593
Abstract: A connecting rod has a big end bearing eye for attachment to a crankshaft, a small end bearing eye for attachment to a piston of a cylinder, and an eccentric adjusting device for adjusting an effective connecting rod length. The eccentric adjusting device has eccentric rods (15, 16) with first ends that engage on an eccentric lever of the eccentric adjusting device and second ends that engage on pistons (20, 21) guided in hydraulic chambers of the connecting rod. The second ends of the eccentric rods (15, 16) are spherical heads that engage in a corresponding recess (40) in the respective piston (20, 21), and the respective piston (20, 21) further accommodates a retention element (41), one segment of which rests on the spherical-headed end of the respective eccentric rods (15, 16).

  • Patent number: 8104967
Abstract: A device encapsulates a main bearing of a crankshaft. The main bearing is supplied with oil via an oil supply groove. The device has a bearing seat for the main bearing and on its sides which face toward the crank webs of the crankshaft, has oil channels which are open in the direction of the main bearing and in the direction of the crankshaft webs. In the device, the oil channels are sealed off in the direction of the crankshaft webs by sealing disks which are fastened to the bearing seat.

  • Publication number: 20050011480
Abstract: A valve drive is suited for an internal combustion engine that has a camshaft with a sliding cam device. The sliding cam device is equipped with cam paths lying next to each other with different cam forms and hoisting curves which function together with actuation elements equipped with control pins for the adjustment of the sliding cam device. For optimization of the valve track, at least one hoisting curve of the sliding cam device carrying the cam paths is equipped with different hoisting curve sections for the engagement of the control pin of the corresponding actuation element.

  • Patent number: 5408958
Abstract: A cylinder head of an internal-combustion engine has three intake valves on one side of a longitudinal center plane and has two exhaust valves on the other side. The intake valves are arranged in a circumferential direction of a cylinder of the internal-combustion engine, and a first intake valve arranged close to the edge of a combustion chamber is permanently driven by a camshaft by means of a space-saving actuating lever. The other intake valves are connected successively or isochronously according to the requirements. When the load is low, a fuel-saying load movement is achieved by the tangential inflow through the first intake valve, while, when the load requirements are higher, an optimized mixture flow rate is possible via the connected valves.

  • Patent number: 5138985
Abstract: An arrangement for changing the valve timing of an internal-combustion engine has a camshaft, which can be rotated relative to a shaft driving it. The camshaft has a phase converter with a piston which is hydraulically acted upon on both sides. In the camshaft, an axial recess is arranged in which an inserted pipe separates two spaces from one another. An on/off valve fed from the oil circulating system, in one position, via one of the spaces, supplies the piston with pressure oil so that this piston is axially shifted into a first end position and in the process rotates the camshaft. In a second position, the piston, by way of the second space is axially pushed back by pressure oil.
