    Abstract: A cartridge for selectively permitting flow from a master cylinder includes a cartridge body formed with an axial passage extending from a first end to a second end of the cartridge body. A cartridge stem is disposed in the axial passage and is movable in the axial passage between a closed position, in which the cartridge stem blocks flow between the first and second ends of the cartridge body, and an open position, in which the cartridge stem permits flow between the first and second ends of the cartridge body. A method for installing a master cylinder assembly, the master cylinder assembly including a master cylinder provided with a cartridge, in a fluid pressure control system is also disclosed.
