  • Patent number: 4283977
Abstract: A motor operated circular miter chop saw is pivotally mounted on a generally horizontal axle pivot bolt about which it rotates in a vertical plane with the axle pivot bolt being carried by a cast support base structure. Angular orientation of the work-piece is provided by an angularly adjustable fence rotatably carried by the cast base support structure. Clamping means are also provided selectively mountable with the cast support base to provide hold-in clamping action for holding a work-piece against the fence or mountable with the fence to provide hold-down clamping action for holding a work-piece against the cast support base.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4265154
Abstract: A motor operated circular miter chop saw is pivotally mounted on a generally horizontal axle pivot bolt about which it rotates in a vertical plane with the axle pivot bolt being carried by a cast support base structure. Angular orientation of the work piece is provided by an angularly adjustable fence rotatably carried by the cast base support structure with the fence having a generally downwardly open circularly arcuate groove cooperating with a pair of machined steel pins pressed into the cast base support structure. The cast base support structure is also provided with an arcuate slot to provide clearance for the circular saw blade and leaf spring means are provided carried by the cast support base bias the fence rearwardly so that the pins engage against the inward wall of the fence groove.

  • Patent number: 4245533
Abstract: A motor operated circular miter chop saw is pivotally mounted on a generally horizontal axle pivot bolt about which it rotates in a vertical plane with the axle pivot bolt being carried by a cast support base structure provided with means allowing lateral adjustment of one end of the axle pivot bolt and vertical adjustment of the other end. Angular orientation of the work piece is provided by an angularly adjustable fence rotatably carried by the cast base support structure with the fence having lugs cooperating with an arcuate slot or groove provided in the cast base support structure. The cast base support structure is also provided with an arcuate slot to provide clearance for the circular saw blade while an adjustable stop is provided carried by the cast support base to preclude the circular saw blade from contacting the cast support base structure. Spring means are also provided for biasing the saw to an upwardly pivoted position.

  • Patent number: 4176571
Abstract: A guard mechanism for a radial saw having a motor powered saw blade mounted in a housing slidable on a support arm of a frame shiftable between a rearwardly non-cutting position and a forwardly cutting position. The guard mechanism comprises a guard pivotally mounted to the housing for covering a front portion of the blade, and means carried by the housing to contact the frame for raising the guard whenever the housing is shifted to its rearward non-cutting position.

  • Patent number: 4158913
Abstract: A portable cutting tool, and particularly a tool designed as a nibbler-shear for use in cutting sheet material. The tool includes a power head with a changeable block, one for a shear type cutter and one for a nibbler type cutter. The one with the nibbler type cutter has a fixed cutter and a movable cutter. The movable cutter is reversibly mounted and has two cutting edges, one co-acting with the fixed cutter and the other to remain in a stored position for future use.

  • Patent number: 4152961
Abstract: A radial saw including a table with a work support surface to which a frame is connected below the work support surface. A post is connected to the frame at the rear thereof, and a support arm cantilevers over the table from its post connection. A pair of support rods, one round and one square are affixed to the support arm. A slide is fitted with bearings that will separately journal the round rod in close fit and the square rod in loose fit. A motor for the saw is carried by the slide to be moved therewith in translatory motion across the work support surface. The frame and the post are each angularly adjustable to permit selective straight cutting, or various miter and compound angle cuts.
