  • Patent number: 12524705
Abstract: An approach is provided for upgrading containerized applications in cluster(s) in a container orchestration system. State information about the containerized applications is identified and analyzed. Based on the state information, an upgrade path for an upgrade of the containerized applications is determined. Using an artificial intelligence (AI) based container orchestration platform upgrade engine that employs continuous learning for upgrading data and algorithmic models to upgrade containers, a recommendation is generated that the upgrade be a full upgrade or a partial upgrade. A confirmation of the full upgrade or the partial upgrade is received from a user. Components for the full upgrade or the partial upgrade are created. Using the upgrade path and based on the full upgrade or the partial upgrade, the upgrade is performed.

  • Patent number: 11106588
Abstract: Embodiments are provided for deferring allocation of storage for segments. The method includes receiving, at a first moment in time, a request to allocate a first segment within a memory. Information corresponding to the first segment is stored in a first entry in a hash table, and memory is allocated for the first segment. Information about the first segment is returned to an entity that requested the allocation of the first segment, where the first segment is not allocated auxiliary storage until predefined criteria are satisfied. At a second moment in time, upon receiving an indication to deallocate the first segment, memory corresponding to the first segment is deallocated, where the first segment is never allocated auxiliary storage and the first entry in the hash table is deleted.

  • Patent number: 10686770
Abstract: A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a process that includes providing a pairing key to a communication device, wherein the pairing key is encrypted and is associated with a software application associated with a group of services. The communication device is enabled to utilize the software application based on the pairing key and a service of the group of services is requested from a first media resource center for use with a media device. Responsive to a detection of a communication zone associated with a second media resource center, the pairing key is provided to the second media resource center to enable the service to be used in the communication zone. The software application is not fully enabled until it is determined to be in compliance with a service provider policy. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10593168
Abstract: An insulator for notifying an animal when an electric fence is provided. The insulator may include a clip for attaching the insulator to the fence. Metal contact points may draw power from the electric fence when the fence is active, or the insulator may be powered through induction. The insulator may also include a circuit board or controller that receives power from the fence and translates it into an output directed to a notification device. The notification device may comprise a light that produces a visual notification or a speaker that produces an audible notification.

  • Publication number: 20200081827
Abstract: Techniques for recycling segment pages while preserving integrity of memory addressing. Upon a request to delete a system object, an initial segment identifier is de-assigned from a segment of the system object, and each segment page of the system object is remapped to a new virtual address range. The segment is stored as a reusable segment in a reusable segment store. Upon a request to access the system object, an exception is raised that the system object does not exist. Upon a request to create a new system object, the reusable segment store is searched to identify the reusable segment as a match. The reusable segment is assigned as a segment of the new system object.

  • Patent number: 10582273
Abstract: A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, receiving a message transmitted from a web server application operating in a mobile device and inserting an identifier of a gateway device into the message to produce a modified message. The modified message includes a request to invoke a software application in the mobile device. The modified message is forwarded to a remote server to allow the server to establish communications with a media processor based on the identifier of the gateway device. The media processor invokes the software application in the mobile device based on an address supplied by the web server application allowing the mobile device to execute the software application and to establish media communication services with the media processor responsive to executing the software application. Other embodiments are disclosed.
