  • Patent number: 8708835
Abstract: Golf putter apparatus includes a golf putter, a laser light generator and mirror mounting structure inserted in the shaft maintaining proper positioning of a mirror used to reflect laser light from the laser light generator and operable to hold the mirror in stable fixed position and orientation.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 23, 2013
Date of Patent: April 29, 2014
    Assignee: The Lazer Putter, LLC
Inventors: John Backman, Clark Tatum, Craig William Dye, Michael William Slota
  • Patent number: 7616090
Abstract: An electronic security system. The system includes a plurality of electronic security devices. Each of these devices includes an input/output module that receives and decodes electronic signals and governs the functionality of the electronic security device. The system also includes a power supply module. The power supply module sends electrical power and modulated commands to the plurality of electronic security devices over power lines.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 20, 2004
Date of Patent: November 10, 2009
    Assignee: Von Duprin, Inc.
Inventors: Donald D. Baker, Paul Hoggard, William Dye

  • Patent number: 5408317
Abstract: A scattered light Moire-Brillouin guided wave gyroscope includes a coherent light source for providing two counter-rotating primary waves; an optical waveguide, responsive to the two primary waves, for generating a Moire fringe from a primary fringe and a Brillouin fringe derived respectively from the counter-rotating primary waves and from the counter-rotating Brillouin waves produced from the primary waves; and means for detecting the rotation of the Moire fringe relative to the waveguide.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 28, 1990
Date of Patent: April 18, 1995
Assignee: The Charles Stark Draper Laboratory, Inc.
Inventors: William A. Dyes, Farhad Hakimi
  • Patent number: 5064288
Abstract: A scattered light multi-Brillouin guided wave optical gyroscope includes a coherent light source; an optical waveguide responsive to the coherent light source for generating a Brillouin, inertially stationary, synchronized fringe from two counter-rotating fringes each derived from a pair of Brillouin waves separated by twice the Brillouin shift; and means for detecting relative rotation between the Brillouin stationary synchronized fringe and the waveguide.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 7, 1990
Date of Patent: November 12, 1991
Assignee: The Charles Stark Draper Laboratory
Inventors: William A. Dyes, Farhad Hakimi
  • Patent number: 4782492
Abstract: A system for the thermal control of optical devices includes an optical device having at least one coating of an electrically conductive material formed on a surface in a heat conducting relationship with the material and connected to a controllable current source which passes varying amounts of electrical current through the layer to vary the amount of thermal energy introduced into the device to control its optical response characteristics. The electrically conductive layer or layers can be optically active, that is, function to affect the light energy transmitted into or through the device as well as acting as an electrically conductive thermal element.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: November 1, 1988
    Assignee: Polaroid Corporation
Inventors: Donald H. McMahon, William A. Dyes
  • Patent number: 4776656
Abstract: A TE-TM mode converter utilizes a Y-cut lithium niobate crystal which includes a straight titanium-diffused channel extending along the Z-axis of the crystal. A parallel pair of electrodes lie symmetrically on opposite sides of the channel. a.c. and d.c. voltage supplies are connected to the electrodes to supply voltages so as to effect complete conversion from one direction of polarization to the other direction of polarization of a wave applied as an input to one end of the channel for abstraction at the opposite end.
