  • Patent number: 4541873
Abstract: A method is provided for complexing low molecular weight saccharides with an inorganic anioncation complex so that the metallic cation of said complex causes the aggregation of the saccharides to form a complex. The complex is separated via spray drying with the resultant complex displaying a resistance to humidity and an increased flowability.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 13, 1982
Date of Patent: September 17, 1985
    Assignee: General Foods Corporation
Inventors: Timothy W. Schenz, William A. Eisenhardt, Jr., Fouad Z. Saleeb
  • Patent number: 4477481
Abstract: Fresh citrus pulp is water washed and/or combined with an inorganic basic material such as calcium oxide in order to raise the pH of the pulp material to about 4.0 or above. The pH-adjusted pulp is then frozen and freeze-dried resulting in a dry pulp material which has good wetting and dispersion characteristics and a natural appearance in aqueous medium.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 24, 1982
Date of Patent: October 16, 1984
    Assignee: General Foods Corporation
Inventors: William A. Eisenhardt, Jr., Fouad Z. Saleeb, Randal P. McKay, Bary L. Zeller
  • Patent number: 4243605
Abstract: Novel isocyanates such as, for example, blocked L-tyrosine methyl ester isocyanate, are reacted with compounds of biological, clinical interest or the like such as, for example, digoxin, to form derivatives receptive to tagging, as by radioliabeling. The tagged derivatives may then be employed to determine the presence of the compound of interest in nanomolar or even picomolar amounts by using clinical analysis techniques such as radioimmunoassay.

Date of Patent: January 6, 1981
    Assignee: Union Carbide Corporation
Inventors: William A. Eisenhardt, Jr., Eddie Hedaya, Spyros Theodoropulos
