Patent number: 10683746Abstract: Assemblies and methods of use are disclosed for determining a position of a body within a tubing section. A signal generator coupled to the body is operable to generate a pressure wave in response to detecting a detectable portion of the tubing section when the body is moved relative to the tubing section.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 2017Date of Patent: June 16, 2020Assignee: Halliburton Energy Services, Inc.Inventors: Ralph Harvey Echols, William Mark Richards, Joshua Max Hornsby, Gregory William Garrison, James Ho

Patent number: 10465474Abstract: A system for use in completing a wellbore includes a portion of a workstring extending into the wellbore such that a first annulus is created between the workstring and a portion of the wellbore. The portion of the workstring is inserted to a depth corresponding to a base, such as a sump packer that defines a lower boundary of the completion zone. The zone of deployment may be sealed uphole by a second packer included in the workstring. A service tool having an inner sleeve, an outer sleeve, and a rotating mandrel positioned therebetween is provided to deliver fluids and execute completion operations as facilitated by rotation of the mandrel. Rotation of the mandrel allows for control of multiple fluid flow paths, each of which may correspond to a completion process within the zone, without displacement of the service tool in an uphole or downhole direction.Type: GrantFiled: December 27, 2016Date of Patent: November 5, 2019Assignee: Halliburton Energy Services, Inc.Inventors: Maxime Philippe Coffin, Gregory William Garrison

Patent number: 10041331Abstract: An exemplary downhole system includes a completion string positioned within a wellbore and providing at least an upper seal bore and a downhole device that includes a sliding sleeve. A service tool is extendable within the completion string and includes a shifting tool assembly and provides a mandrel, a shifting tool coupled to the mandrel, and upper equalization seals arranged on the mandrel and sealingly engageable with the upper seal bore. The shifting tool is engageable with the sliding sleeve to move the downhole device at least partially between a closed position, where a pressure differential between a subterranean formation and an interior of the completion string is assumed by primary sealing elements of the downhole device, and an open position, where the pressure differential is assumed by at least the upper equalization seals.Type: GrantFiled: February 18, 2015Date of Patent: August 7, 2018Assignee: Halliburton Energy Services, Inc.Inventors: Colby Munro Ross, Gregory William Garrison

Patent number: 9042717Abstract: An image system configured to record a scanned image of an area. The system includes a single two-dimensional (2D) imager and a rotatable mirror. The 2D imager is formed of a two-dimensional (2D) array of light detectors. The 2D imager is operable in a line-scan mode effective to individually sequence an activated line of light detectors at a time. The rotatable mirror is configured to rotate about an axis parallel to a plane defined by the rotatable mirror. The rotation is effective to vary an angle of the rotatable mirror to pan a projected image of the area across the 2D imager. The angle of the rotatable mirror and the activated line of the 2D imager are synchronized such that the scanned image recorded by the 2D imager is inverted with respect to the projected image.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 2013Date of Patent: May 26, 2015Assignee: Delphi Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Yew Kwang Low, Kok Wee Yeo, Chee Keng Yeo, Ronald M. Taylor, Ward K. Everly, William Garrison Shogren

Publication number: 20140355974Abstract: A multi-view image system that includes a single camera configured to capture an image, and a transreflective device. The transreflective device is operable to a transparent-state where light passes through the transreflective device to provide the camera a first image of an area from a first perspective. The transreflective device is also operable to a reflective-state where light is reflected by the transreflective device to provide the camera a second image of the area from a second perspective distinct from the first perspective. The system may also include a minor arrangement that cooperates with the transreflective device to provide the camera the first image when the transreflective device is in the transparent-state, and the second image when the transreflective device in in the reflective-state.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 4, 2013Publication date: December 4, 2014Inventors: YEW KWANG LOW, KOK WEE YEO, CHEE KENG YEO, RONALD M.
