  • Patent number: 5283015
Abstract: A process for forming microcapsules having discrete capsule walls comprising the steps of:forming an emulsion of an oily core material phase in a continuous aqueous phase, said oily core material phase including isocyanatoacrylate or cyanoacrylate prewall reactants which react with said aqueous phase to form a pre-wall material around said oily core material phase; andenwrapping particles of said oily core material phase in an amine-formaldehyde condensation product produced by in situ condensation of an amine and formaldehyde, and the microcapsules produced thereby are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5196287
Abstract: A process for producing photosensitive microcapsules having an extended dynamic range and the microcapsules produced thereby are disclosed; the process includes:(a) providing an emulsion of a multiplicity of droplets of an internal phase in a continuous phase; said internal phase including a photohardenable or photosoftenable composition and an image-forming agent wherein the composition of said internal phase incrementally or continuously varies; and(b) forming a wall around said droplets.

  • Patent number: 5122432
Abstract: A photosensitive material includes a support having microcapsules and a color correction dye on its surface. The microcapsules include first, second and third sets of microcapsules, each set containing an internal phase. The first set of microcapsules is sensitive to red light and is associated with a cyan image-forming agent, the second set of microcapsules is sensitive to green light and is associated with a magenta image-forming agent, and the third set of microcapsules is sensitive to blue light and is associated with a yellow image-forming agent. The cyan, magenta and yellow image forming agents are respectively soluble in the internal phases of the first, second and third sets of microcapsules whereas the color correction dye is insoluble in the internal phase. The first, second and third sets of microcapsules are present in one or more layers containing a binder on the surface of the support. The color correction dye absorbs at least one of red, green, and blue light.

  • Patent number: 4960750
Abstract: A recording sheet which comprises a substrate having a layer of a metal on the surface thereof and a layer of microcapsules, said microcapsules being bonded to one another by means of a crosslinking agent which has reactively interacted with reactive moieties on the surface of said microcapsules, to improve the adhesion of said microcapsule layer to said metal layer.
