  • Publication number: 20170024455
Abstract: An online system receives information from an entity identifying a set of users of the online system and groups users included in the set into clusters based on their similarities using a clustering model or algorithm (e.g., k-means clustering) and based on one or more parameters specified by the entity. The online system generates expanded clusters that include additional users in one or more clusters based on similarities between the additional users and users in various clusters. If an additional user is included in multiple expanded clusters, the online assigns the additional user exclusively to an expanded cluster that best fits the user.

  • Patent number: 9443377
Abstract: A Web page is received at a gaming device from a Web server device and then displayed. Information indicative of a player's interaction with the Web page is received at the Web server device. The Web server device sends a request to a gaming property server device based at least in part on the interaction, and the gaming property server device sends a reply to the Web server device. The Web server device then provides Web content to the gaming device based at least in part on the reply. A display of the gaming device is changed based at least in part on the Web content.

  • Publication number: 20160071175
Abstract: A social networking system provides verification of gift orders placed for restricted gifts. The restricted gift is subject to limitations on the giving and receiving of the gift, such as minimum age thresholds. A user purchasing the gift is directed from a social network to a landing page of a gifting system. At the landing page, the user provides login credentials to verify the user's identity within the purchase flow and prior to gift purchase. The social networking system verifies whether the login credentials match the user and determines whether the user may be permitted to purchase the restricted gift by comparing limitations of the restricted gift with profile information of the verified user. An order for the gift is provided to a gift delivery location where the recipient can receive the gift.

  • Publication number: 20150320694
Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to a mucoadhesive nanoparticle delivery system. The nanoparticles are formed from amphiphilic macromolecules conjugated to a mucosal targeting moiety in such a manner that the surface of the nanoparticle is coated with the targeting moiety. The surface density of the targeting moiety can be tuned for adjustable targeting of the nanoparticles to a mucosal site without substantially compromising the stability of the particles. The particles were found to have high loading efficiency and sustained release properties at the mucosal site. The present disclosure also relates to polymers and macromolecules useful in the preparation of the mucoadhesive nanoparticles, as well as compositions, methods, commercial packages, kits and uses related thereto.

  • Publication number: 20150267835
Abstract: A valve monitoring system used for the evacuation of condensate from a compressed air tank includes a transducer that generates an electrical signal based on the sound of material exiting the tank through a release valve. When the electrical signal generated by the transducer corresponds to the sound of air flow, indicating that the condensate has been evacuated, a trigger mechanism actuates the valve to close the valve and prevent any additional air from exiting the tank.
