Abstract: A method and system to support multiple chains of authentication modules. The method may include receiving a user login request, and identifying multiple chains of authentication modules to be performed prior to allowing a user to login, where each chain of authentication modules is associated with a chain manager. The method further includes determining dependencies between chain managers, invoking the chain managers in the order defined by the dependencies, and responding to the user login request based on execution results of the authentication modules.

Abstract: A method for providing an activity management tool includes receiving a user request for an activity overview, and identifying installed applications and open windows of the installed applications. The method further includes presenting an activity overview graphical user interface (GUI) having a first area and a second area. The first area includes visual indicators of the installed applications. The second area includes the open windows of the installed applications, where the open windows are resized and positioned in such a way as to be simultaneously viewable by the user.

Abstract: Audio/video recorders are presented for recording audio and video of various types of proceedings, including court proceedings. In some examples, audio/video recorders may obtain case information associated with a case identifier from a case management database, and associate at least some of the case information with one or more audio channel inputs of the audio interface. In some examples, audio/video recorders may associate a speaker with an audio channel input of the audio interface, determine that an amplitude of an audio signal received at the audio channel input is above a threshold, determine a time when the amplitude of the audio signal at the audio channel was determined to be above the threshold, and generate metadata as a timeline indicating that the first speaker began speaking at the first time.

Abstract: In one respect, the invention is an improved diptube design for a container for containing and dispensing a liquid chemical, the diptube generating a spring force when compressed that acts to maintain a bottom end of the diptube in contact with a bottom interior surface of the container and a notch located at a bottom edge of the bottom end of the diptube that creates a flow communication between the diptube and the interior volume of the base portion of the container. In another respect, the invention is a method of constructing a container having these limitations.

Abstract: A fluid container ship cap seals a plurality of fluid interconnects of a fluid container during one or both of shipping and storage. The fluid container ship cap includes an elastomeric seal having a plurality of fluidic sealing members to seal a corresponding plurality of fluid interconnects. The fluid container ship cap further includes a rigid shell to rotate the fluid container ship cap about an axis of rotation at a fulcrum provided by a first fluidic sealing member of the plurality of fluidic sealing members. The elastomeric seal is affixed to the rigid shell.

The method further includes receiving, via the workspace overview GUI, a user request to open a new window for one of the favorite applications in a first work space, adding the new window to the first work space, and presenting the new window in a reduced form in a region representing the first work space without overlapping other open windows of the first work space.

Abstract: In one example, a fluid cartridge for an inkjet type liquid dispensing device includes a housing having a chamber therein for holding a liquid, a vent through which air may enter the chamber, and an outlet through which liquid may pass from the chamber out of the housing. A capillary material is disposed in the chamber between the vent and the outlet so that, when the capillary material is sufficiently depleted of liquid, the capillary material forms an airway from the vent to the outlet. The outlet configured to cause an abrupt break in a liquid connection in the outlet as air enters the outlet through the capillary material.

Abstract: Program execution profile data is collected by direct measurement of some code paths, and by inferring data for unmeasured paths. The data collection process may cause errors, which are propagated by the inferencing process. The profile data thus constructed is further enhanced by detecting certain data mismatches, and adjusting inferred data to reduce the scope of errors propagated during the inferencing process. Preferably, a control flow graph of the program being measured is constructed. Mismatches in the total weights of input arcs versus output arcs are detected. For certain specific types of mismatches, it can be known or guessed which count is incorrect, and this count is accordingly corrected. Correction of arc counts proceeds recursively until it is no longer possible to correct mismatches. Additionally, certain other conditions are adjusted as presumed inaccuracies.

Abstract: A method and system for collecting, aggregating, and displaying type specific content in an inbox like view are described. An inbox manager collects information about data objects that are stored locally and stored remotely. This information may be stored as inbox information on a local computing system. Using the inbox information, the inbox manager creates an inbox view of merged inbox items from the local data objects and the remote data objects. The inbox view is configured to display the inbox items as being merged into a single view regardless of where the respective data objects are stored.

Abstract: A computing device, computer readable storage medium, and method for migration of a physical machine to a virtual machine are disclosed. The computing device executes an operating system installer and generates a virtual disk image at a temporary location. The computing device copies data from one or more existing partitions on a storage device to the virtual disk image, wherein the one or more existing partitions include an existing operating system and associated data. The virtual disk image is stored at a temporary location. The one or more existing partitions are then replaced with a new partition on the storage device. A new operating system is installed on the new partition. The virtual disk image is moved to the new partition from the temporary location. The virtual disk image can then be loaded into a virtual machine that runs on the new operating system.

Abstract: Disclosed are an apparatus, method, and program product which each provide an enhanced database engine. Access to precise values is provided while permitting unfettered access to those who are not interested in precise values. This is accomplished via an enhanced database index and indexing method. The entries of the database index are normalized to exclude precision. Individuals interested in precision can then specify precision as part of their query through use of a PRECISE keyword. Results are then filtered to account for the specified precision.

Abstract: A system for calculating a cost for printing is disclosed herein. A method for calculating the cost includes receiving a print job including print job characteristics and determining a printer classification for a printer. A controlled representative volume of ink to print the print job is determined, responsive to the print job characteristics and the printer classification. The controlled representative volume of ink is independent of a variation within the printer classification.

Abstract: Various methods for testing spiral wound modules by thermal imaging are described. In a preferred embodiment, the method(s) includes flowing a gas between a scroll face and permeate collection tube of a spiral wound module and detecting temperature differences on the scroll face. Temperature differentials on the scroll face may be captured as a thermal image. The location(s) of temperature differentials on the scroll face can be correlated to defects in the module. In preferred embodiments, the subject test methods are non-destructive and can be applied to spiral wound modules in either a dry or wet condition.
