  • Publication number: 20100306072
Abstract: Systems, apparatus, and computer program products are provided that allow for a credit partner, such as a retailer, to process a customer credit card application at multiple point-of-sale/point-of-contact channels, such as a manned or self-service cash register, a manned or unmanned kiosk, partner web site, a call center or the like and, if the customer is approved, allow for the customer to transact using the approved credit account at the credit partner location/site. The systems, methods and computer program provide for integration of the credit application system within multiple point-of-sale channels without requiring a large degree of customization and/or configuration at the credit partner level. In addition, embodiments support both active and passive instant credit decision processing.

  • Patent number: 5662955
Abstract: A coffee grinder which has several different automatic grinding capacities is connected to a coffee brewer which has several different automatic brewing capacities by a control that inhibits brewing of all but the corresponding brew capacity following grinding of a quantity of coffee. The grinder is also inhibited from grinding any more coffee until the appropriate brew cycle of the coffee brewer is started. Once the corresponding brewing cycle is selected, the coffee grinder is reset and any grinding capacity may be selected. A calibration mode for the coffee grinder and the coffee brewer is provided wherein the duration of the grinding cycle or brewing cycle, respectively, is set by manually initiating the cycle and then halting of the cycle when the appropriate capacity is reached. The duration of the cycle is then set for subsequent automatic operation.

  • Patent number: 5025132
Abstract: A microprocessor controlled food treatment/holding apparatus has a cabinet which defines a storage space for food to be treated at a predetermined temperature and relative humidity within said storage space, a heater with a surface that can be heated to a temperature which is sufficient to boil water for a predetermined length of time, and a controlled solenoid for delivering a plurality of preselected amounts of water against the heater surface according to the length of time a cabinet door is opened. Detailed operating parameters for the storage space of the temperature and relative humidity conditions are maintained in suitable memory and polled by the microprocessor during operation of the apparatus as real-time data from remote sensors are sent to the microprocessor, which controls the monitoring system of the apparatus.
