  • Publication number: 20240341967
Abstract: Shoulder joint implants are disclosed herein for use in shoulder reconstruction that are configured to facilitate the inclusion a central bone screw for augmented bone fixation. The implant can include a baseplate (or metaglene) configured to secure a glenosphere or other prosthetic component to the glenoid. To facilitate lateral or proximal insertion of a central bone screw through the implant, a throughbore defined along the central axis of the metaglene can be widened to accommodate the maximum diameter of the screw. To enable fixation of the glenosphere to the metaglene, a collet can be configured to engage the smaller diameter of a glenosphere coupling element and inserted into the central throughbore. The collet and the bone screw can be separate parts, thereby making insertion of the bone screw optional. Alternatively, the collet and bone screw can be integrated together to form a unitary construct.

  • Patent number: 12096053
Abstract: The platform is directed to various aspects of content transmission. The platform causes a viewing device to receive fragment-level metadata associated with a first fragment of content. The platform receives a request for a second fragment of the content, immediately subsequent to the first fragment of the content. The platform determines that the second fragment of the content is not stored at a content storage device at a time of receiving the request, and that the second fragment of the content is expected to be stored at the content storage device within a defined time period. Responsive to these determinations, the platform holds the received request for the defined time period. The platform determines, prior to expiration of the defined time period, that the second fragment of the content is stored at the content storage device, and transmits the second fragment of the content to the viewing device.

  • Patent number: 12064546
Abstract: Embodiments of negative pressure wound therapy systems, apparatuses, and methods for operating the systems and apparatuses are disclosed. In some embodiments, the apparatus includes a negative pressure source, a connector port, at least one switch, and a controller. The negative pressure source is connected through the connector port to either (i) a wound dressing having a canister configured to store fluid aspirated from the wound or (ii) a wound dressing without a canister between the connector port and the wound dressing. The controller determines, based on a signal received from the at least one switch, whether the canister is positioned in the fluid flow path and adjusts one or more operational parameters of negative pressure wound therapy based on the determination. The switch is activated by the connection of either the canister or canisterless wound dressing to the apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20240126430
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are disclosed for selection of characters from an electronic user interface. In one embodiment, a letter selection interface displays letters in a row, some of which are recordable by an input interpreter and others that are unrecordable. In one embodiment, unrecordable letters visually separate letters that are both (1) recordable, and (2) assigned to different but adjacent selection buttons. In response to received touch-screen activations, an interpreter records recordable letter selections and a display displays both recordable and unrecordable letter selections. The interpreter composes a sequence of the recorded letters. An algorithm identifies alternatives to the recorded sequence by editing one or more letters of the sequence, such that each edit changes a selected letter to an adjacent unrecordable letter. The algorithm outputs words that match the originally composed sequence or one of the identified alternatives.

  • Patent number: 11939547
Abstract: Pre-ground plastics of small particle size not more than 2 mm are co-fed into a solid fossil fuel fed entrained flow partial oxidation gasifier. High solids concentrations in the feedstock stream can be obtained without significant impact on the feedstock stream stability and pumpability. A consistent quality of syngas can be continuously produced, including generation of carbon dioxide and a carbon monoxide/hydrogen ratio while stably operating the gasifier and avoiding the high tar generation of fluidized bed or fixed bed waste gasifiers and without impacting the operations of the gasifier. The subsequent syngas produced from this material can be used to produce a wide range of chemicals.

  • Patent number: 11922007
Abstract: Apparatus, methods and systems are disclosed for interacting with an electronic device, including inputting letters. One embodiment of the apparatus includes buttons and a text output field displayed on a touch-sensitive display screen. Each button is assigned one or more letters. The text output field displays text and tentative letter selection indicators. In one embodiment of the method, the device records button actuations that ambiguously identify letter selections. With each actuation, a tentative letter selection indicator becomes appended to the end of the contents of the text output field. Upon activation of a button such as a spacebar button, or in response to an event such as expiration of a time period, a language algorithm disambiguates the recorded ambiguously identified letter selections and returns a word suggestion. The returned word replaces a sequence of appended tentative letter selection indicators displayed in the text output field.
