  • Publication number: 20220243224
Abstract: Methods of producing and manufacturing retroviral particles. Such methods may involve the use of an ion-exchange column with an elution buffer comprising one or more salts, wherein the elution buffer has a low total salt concentration (e.g., 400 mM to 800 mM) relative to conventional practice. In some embodiments, the retroviral particles can be generated by host cells transfected with retroviral vectors using polyethylenimine (PEI).

  • Patent number: 9575740
Abstract: An apparatus and method for isolating at least one of a plurality of applications included in an electronic device are provided. The method includes selecting at least one of the plurality of applications included in the electronic device, preprocessing the at least one selected application so as to be at least one modified application included in a sandbox isolating the at least one selected applications from others of the plurality of applications, and installing the at least one modified application on the electronic device so as to be executed only according to the sandbox.

  • Publication number: 20040139159
Abstract: A system and method allows multiple remote devices to form ad hoc groups over a network to participate in an activity. Each remote device is represented by a software surrogate, that is usually specific to the activity, device and communication channel. Where the remote device has limited computational power its surrogate can handle much of the computation necessary to participate in the activity. The surrogate can also queue communication to and from a remote device to make up for communication lapses common in wireless networks. The surrogate can also track usage information and persist the state of the activity. One embodiment is for multi-player gaming over cellular data networks using telephones, PDAs or the like. Another embodiment is for communication between emergency first responders.

  • Patent number: 4335831
Abstract: Composite insulating panels each having a generally rectangular casing and insulating material in the casing are mounted by mechanical fastening means in a covering layer over an inner surface of a supporting enclosure. A cross-shaped joint cover member is installed between four adjacent corner portions of each group of four rectangularly arranged composite panels. A straight joint cover member is installed between each pair of adjacent composite panels, a pair of opposite end portions thereof being joined respectively to a pair of the cross-shaped joint cover members. Each of four leg portions of each cross-shaped joint cover member has a generally U-shaped cross section open toward the inner surface of the supporting enclosure. Each straight joint cover member has a generally U-shaped cross-section open toward the inner surface of the supporting enclosure.

  • Patent number: 4155482
Abstract: Composite panels each having a casing and insulating material in the casing are mounted in a covering layer over the inside of a supporting structure by mechanical fastening means. Joint cover members including insulating material and outer facing material are disposed in the spaces between casings of adjacent composite panels. The outer facing material is sealed to front panel portions of the casings to form a primary barrier for cryogenic liquids therewith. An additional secondary barrier may be provided by using composite panels with interior panels in the casings sealed to inner sides thereof and dividing the casings into front and rear compartments, each having insulation therein, and using front and rear joint cover members, the outer facing material of the rear joint cover members being sealed to outer sides of the casings of adjacent composite panels to form a secondary barrier with the interior panels of the composite panels.
