Abstract: An observation center for an automobile comprises a roof top compartment located approximately above the driver's head and arranged to provide him with means to observe the scene to the rear of the vehicle and also is provided with exterior roof top signal means to enable others to observe the driver's signalled intention to stop or to turn, as well as signals in the form of parking, side or running lights, and emergency flashers. Preferably, the center includes a ventilation means that takes advantage of the drag produced by the shape of the compartment.
