  • Publication number: 20120315308
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for continuously preparing a particulate material are provided. One method of the invention includes mixing a first solution comprising a solute dissolved in a solvent, with a second solution, thereby providing a first solution-second solution mixture; and introducing the mixture into the high-energy zone of a high shear dispersion system and dispersing the first solution-second solution mixture prior to significant particulate growth, whereby the dispersed mixture forms a suspension of particles of the solute; and wherein significant particulate growth has occurred when the average equivalent spherical diameter of at least one particle in the solution is greater than 10 micrometer. Integrated apparatuses for performing methods of the invention are also provided.

  • Patent number: 7259583
Abstract: A method for testing a generator including a plurality of phase groups is provided. The method includes electrically isolating a first phase group from remaining phase groups by substantially encapsulating at least a portion of a plurality of stator bars electrically coupled together within the first phase group with an insulative member, electrically grounding at least a second phase group, and inducing a high voltage to the first phase group to facilitate proof testing the first phase group.

  • Patent number: 4184937
Abstract: An electrochemical cell for the detection of chlorine which includes a gold working electrode and a counter electrode, with or without a reference electrode, comprising either gold or platinum black which operate in a substantially non-aqueous electrolyte consisting preferably of lithium perchlorate dissolved in an organic solvent selected from the group consisting of .gamma.-butyrolactone and propylene carbonate. A fixed potential is maintained between the working electrode and a referenced air electrode of between +500 to -700 mv, and, preferably, between -100 to -150 mv.
