Publication number: 20110282778Abstract: Transaction information is received and applied to multiple fraud risk mathematical models that each produce a respective raw score, which are transformed with respective sigmoidal transform functions to produce optimized likelihood of fraud risk estimates to provide to a merchant. Respective fraud risk estimates are combined using fusion proportions associated with the respective risk estimates, producing a single point risk estimate, which is transformed with a sigmoidal function to produce an optimized single point risk estimate. The sigmoidal functions approximate a relationship between risk estimates produced by fraud risk detection models and a percentage of transactions associated with respective risk estimates; the relationship is represented in terms of real-world distributions of fraudulent and non-fraudulent transaction.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 22, 2011Publication date: November 17, 2011Inventors: William A. Patent number: 7799146Abstract: An apparatus for and method of disinfecting the interior surfaces of barrels and destroying microorganisms is disclosed. In one embodiment, an ultrasonic apparatus includes a sonotrode encased in a sheath, placed within a bunghole of a barrel. An ultrasonic generator is connected to the sonotrode. The ultrasonic apparatus also includes an ultrasonic transducer connected to the ultrasonic generator and associated with the sonotrode.Type: GrantFiled: February 6, 2006Date of Patent: September 21, 2010Assignee: Cavitus Pty LtdInventors: Arthur R. Patent number: 7707117Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for communicating state information in an electronic message. First data representing a state of an electronic transaction is encoded, to result in creating an encoded message element that is impractical for a recipient to decode. For example, steganographic invisibility encoding may be used. The encoded message element is sent as part of a first message associated with the transaction. A second message associated with the transaction is received, and the third message includes the encoded message element. The encoded message element is decoded, to result in recovering the state of the transaction, which is used in processing the second message. As a result, large volumes of state information are sent to clients for local, transitory storage, precluding the need for a large state data store on the server side.Type: GrantFiled: March 24, 2003Date of Patent: April 27, 2010Assignee: Cybersource CorporationInventors: Michael Pe Jimenez, Robert John Ford, William A. Patent number: 7235901Abstract: A skid steer loader has an interlock system that is responsive to sensor input to lock out such as operation of lift and tilt cylinders of the skid steer loader when the input indicates a condition has not been met. The loader is provided with a cab that has an operator entrance and egress door, and a door latch and a latch striker on the cab are provided with a sensor that senses when the cab door is closed and latched. The lockout prevents carrying out the functions when the door is not closed and latched.Type: GrantFiled: July 11, 2003Date of Patent: June 26, 2007Assignee: Clark Equipment CompanyInventors: Mark F. Bares, Scott B. Jacobson, Jason L. Magnuson, William A. Wright

Patent number: 7229140Abstract: A pretensioned spring track tensioning system provides a two stage loading of a tension roller on the interior of a vehicle drive track. The two stage loading first loads the track under a lower tension load for normal operation, but when the track is highly loaded, such as when digging, or when debris is forced between the track member and its drive sprocket or guide rollers, the compression of the lighter spring will be stopped mechanically and a second heavier compression spring will provide the tension loading. The additional spring tension under unusual conditions prevents detracking of the track and buckling of the track. A lighter tension load during normal operations reduces the loads on bearings, particularly in relation to a drive motor. The tensioning system has particular adaptability to “high” drive type tracks which have a drive sprocket elevated above the tension roller.Type: GrantFiled: April 1, 2004Date of Patent: June 12, 2007Assignee: Clark Equipment CompanyInventors: James H. Page, William A. Wright, Edward Larson

Patent number: 7059434Abstract: A control system for a small work vehicle such as a compact track propelled loader has a control handle that is mounted onto a swinging support plate. The support plate swings about a vertical axis positioned forwardly of the control handle, and the control handle is mounted on the support plate about a horizontal axis. Linkages are provided between the control handle and the pivotal mounting about the upright axis to respective motor control levers for operating motors on opposite sides of the vehicle for steering and propelling the vehicle. Moving the control handle about the horizontal axis causes a drive selectively in forward and reverse direction, and moving the support plate and the control handle about the vertical axis provides differential movement for steering control.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 2004Date of Patent: June 13, 2006Assignee: Clark Equipment CompanyInventors: Mark F. Bares, William A. Wright

Patent number: 5933593Abstract: In a client/server computer system, a method for writing modified data in a cache memory back to a database residing in a hard disk drive. Rather than writing back all of the modified data as part of a checkpointing operation, the present invention designates an amount of the cache memory that is to be cleared for a pre-determined time interval. The amount of cache memory to be cleared is based on an estimate of how much new data is anticipated to be cached. Thereby, just enough memory is cleared and made available so as to accommodate the storage of new data. For the modified data which are to be written back to the database, a lazy writeback operation is utilized.Type: GrantFiled: March 17, 1997Date of Patent: August 3, 1999Assignee: Oracle CorporationInventors: Gopalan Arun, Richard Frank, William A. Patent number: 4422047Abstract: A solid state, band-pass filtered, RF power amplifier for equalizing the response of an amplified RF signal across the entire tuning range of a multi channel transmitter is disclosed. An RF signal is applied to the input of a low noise FET amplifier with a portion of the signal coupled off into a frequency counter which in conjunction with a digital switching logic selects a path through a band-pass filter having characteristics that reduce the broadband noise of the RF signal passed therethrough. Additionally, a dual directional coupler samples the output of the power amplifier with the forward sampled signal being used to control the amplifier output to a preselected level and the reverse sampled signal being used to reduce the amplifier output signal in proportion to an increase in the voltage standing wave ratio load between the amplifier and the transmit/receive switch.Type: GrantFiled: November 23, 1981Date of Patent: December 20, 1983Assignee: E-Systems, Inc.Inventor: William A.
