PURGEABLE INJECTION APPARATUS FOR SPILL-FREE REPLENISHMENT OF EMBEDDED FOUNDATION PRESERVATION WRAPS
Publication number: 20250303438Abstract: A system for replenishing embedded foundation preservation wraps with preservative comprises an embedded foundation, a preservation wrap, and injection apparatus configured to be inserted between the wrap and the foundation. The injection apparatus includes a profiled backing plate and a semicylindrical tube portion defining a lumen therebetween, with a preservative inlet and a plurality of outlet nozzles along a distal bayonet fronting portion. A syringe with a reciprocating plunger operates within the lumen to enable controlled delivery of preservative and purging of residual preservative after use. The plunger may be locked in retracted, inserted, or blocking positions to manage flow and prevent leakage.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 13, 2025Publication date: October 2, 2025Inventors: William ABBOTT, Michael POWELL -
Publication number: 20250288930Abstract: An antimicrobial HVAC filter is designed to be installed in conventional HVAC systems and has conventional filtration material. The filter has antimicrobial enhancement by way of a copper screen and an ultraviolet light source laid flat across the copper screen. The copper provides toxic oligodynamic effect on living cells, algae, molds, spores, fungi, viruses, prokaryotic, and eukaryotic microorganisms. The ultraviolet light source provides germicidal ultraviolet (such as ultraviolet C or UV-C) light to kill or inactivate microorganisms by destroying nucleic acids and disrupting their DNA.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 1, 2023Publication date: September 18, 2025Inventors: William ABBOTT, James JENKINSON

Purgeable injection apparatus for spill-free replenishment of embedded foundation preservation wraps
Patent number: 12350707Abstract: The present injection apparatus is designed for replenishing embedded foundation preservation wraps with preservative whilst avoiding spillage. The injection apparatus comprises an injection bayonet having a lumen fluidly interfacing a plurality of preservative outlet nozzles along the injection bayonet and a preservative inlet fluidly interfacing the lumen. A portable preservative containing tank may be attached to the inlet via a flexible hose. The apparatus further comprises a syringe operating between the preservative inlet and the lumen. When replenishing the preservation wrap, the injection bayonet is inserted between the preservation wrap and the foundation so that preservative is configured to be supplied via the preservative inlet to flow out from the nozzles via the lumen to replenish the preservation wrap with the preservative. After replenishment, the lumen is purged of residual preservative using the syringe.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 2023Date of Patent: July 8, 2025Assignee: COPPER CARE WOOD PRESERVATIVES, INC.Inventors: William Abbott, Michael Powell -

Patent number: 12031216Abstract: A passive cathodic protection process for preservation of embedded metallic foundations entails embedding a wrap around a metallic foundation. The wrap has an outer sheath and an inner absorbent mat to be in direct contact with the metallic foundation. The is also mat hydrophobic. The wrap is subsumed such that an upper edge of the wrap is accessible. An oil-based metallic soap is injected via the upper edge to impregnate the mat. The metallic soap is selected from a set of metallic soaps such that the metal of the metallic soap is more electropositive than the metal of the metallic foundation such that the metallic soap acts as an anodic solution for galvanic exchange with metal within the embedded metallic foundation for the passive cathodic protection thereof. For example, zinc naphthenate may be selected for steel or aluminium foundations thereby allowing for both passive cathodic protection and biocidal action.Type: GrantFiled: March 21, 2019Date of Patent: July 9, 2024Inventors: William Abbott, Benjamin Abbott

Patent number: 8233573Abstract: A method of performing overlap-and-add length for zero-padded suffixes. The method includes derotating received information symbol samples. The derotated received information symbol samples include a first set of derotated received information symbol samples and a second set of derotated received information symbol samples. The first set of derotated received information symbol samples are stored in a buffer. The second set of derotated received information symbol samples are provided to a received sample processing unit. The received zero-padded suffix samples are deroted. Based upon an overlap-and-add length, at least a fraction of the derotated received zero-padded suffix samples is added with at least a fraction of the first set of derotated received information symbol samples to produce multiple summed samples. The multiple summed samples is provided to the received sample processing unit.Type: GrantFiled: June 21, 2010Date of Patent: July 31, 2012Assignee: Texas Instruments IncorporatedInventors: William Abbott, Yehuda Azenkot
