  • Patent number: 12723499
Abstract: Methods for producing and extracting geologic hydrogen from rock formations, and related systems, are generally disclosed.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 25, 2024
Date of Patent: September 1, 2026
    Assignee: Eden GeoPower, Inc.
Inventors: Alexis Templeton, William Aertker, Rafael Villamor-Lora, Vikas Agrawal, Jacob Newmark
  • Patent number: 12709969
Abstract: This disclosure describes systems and methods for using electrical stimulation of a rock formation (e.g., a subterranean formation, a subterranean reservoir) to improve, or otherwise enhance, the energy storage capabilities of the rock formation. Many existing rock formations are too impermeable to facilitate energy storage; however, the Inventors have recognized and appreciated that a “geobattery” may be constructed by using electrical stimulation to increase the permeability of a rock formation (e.g., a subterranean formation) such that water (or some other fluid) can be pumped into the rock formation, in particular, a reservoir within the rock formation, and converted into hydrogen to store the energy within the hydrogen.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 10, 2025
Date of Patent: August 18, 2026
    Assignee: Eden GeoPower, Inc.
Inventors: Vikas Agrawal, Jacob Newmark, William Aertker, Alexis Templeton, Rafael Villamor-Lora
  • Publication number: 20260168369
Abstract: An electrical reservoir stimulation enhanced in situ leach mining system includes a plurality of wells in communication with an ore body. The wells include one or more injection wells and one or more extraction wells and at least two of the wells include electrodes. A power distribution system electrically stimulates the ore body via the electrodes to increase permeability of the ore body and/or enhance leaching operations.
