Abstract: A differential transformer-free hybrid circuit includes a first amplifier configured to receive a first signal from a transmitter and output the first signal to a telephone loop, and a second amplifier configured to receive a second signal from the telephone loop and output the second signal to a receiver. Further, the differential transformer-free hybrid circuit also includes at least one balanced network element and a transformer-less interface configured to couple the first amplifier and the second amplifier to the telephone loop, wherein the transformer-less interface includes at least one current blocking device.

Abstract: A system and method for automated dictionary population is provided to facilitate the entry of textual material in dictionaries for enhancing word prediction. The automated dictionary population system is useful in association with a mobile device including at least one dictionary which includes entries. The device receives a communication which is parsed and textual data extracted. The text is compared to the entries of the dictionaries to identify new words. Statistical information for the parsed words, including word usage frequency, recency, or likelihood of use, is generated. Profanities may be processed by identifying profanities, modifying the profanities, and asking the user to provide feedback. Phrases are identified by phrase markers. Lastly, the new words are stored in a supplementary word list as single words or by linking the words of the identified phrases to preserve any phrase relationships. Likewise, the statistical information may be stored.

The spark plug has a generally annular ceramic insulator and a conductive shell surrounding at least a portion of the ceramic insulator. A ground electrode is operatively attached to the shell, with the ground electrode having a ground electrode sparking surface. A center electrode has an elongate body with a center electrode sparking surface. The center electrode sparking surface and the ground electrode sparking surface provide a spark gap. The center electrode body is constructed of a composite material including at least one ceramic material.

Abstract: An underbanked and unbanked method and module associated with a financial institution to effect generating cash funds from a check, loading these cash funds onto a general purpose reloadable prepaid card, and using these cash funds to facilitate cash to cash money transfers and bill payments for banking customers regardless of whether the customer is a deposit or non-deposit customer of the financial institution. The underbanked and unbanked module can include a check cashing module, a reloadable debit card system, a money remittance system and a bill payment system that are integrated with each other. The customer may use the funds dispensed from the underbanked and unbanked module to obtain cash, load a reloadable debit card, pay for purchases, pay bills, obtain a money order and/or to facilitate cash to cash money transfers.

In one aspect a method is provided for controlling operation of an amplifier, such as a class E amplifier. The method may include monitoring an output of the amplifier. The method may further include adjusting a timing of an enabling switch of the amplifier based on the output of the amplifier.

Abstract: Noise dampers of sound absorbent material are inserted on the metal grid beams in a suspended ceiling. Hangers, embedded in a structural ceiling, that support the beams, are insulated from the beams by the noise dampers. Sound vibrations generated in the structural ceiling, which is often a floor, are not transmitted through the hangers, to the suspended ceiling, or to the room, below, but are absorbed in the dampers before reaching the grid beams.

Abstract: The present invention is an apparatus and method for guiding the driver of a vehicle in selecting an accelerator pedal position and transmission gear to improve a score. The score may be a weighted average of a fuel economy score and a drivability score. A curve showing the best score for each gear may be shown on a display as a function of accelerator pedal and transmission gear number, along with the current accelerator pedal and gear number of the vehicle. The driver may improve the score by changing to an accelerator pedal and/or gear selection that is closer to the curve. The curve may be calculated, using a model based on forces and torques upon the vehicle, from data acquired by monitoring the vehicle and/or from external sources.

The heat transferable material can be in one or more sections or patches on a thermal donor element to provide a protective overcoat material. The heat transferable material provides better image stability and improved iridescence when applied to a receiver.
