  • Publication number: 20250137942
Abstract: Several new techniques for designing nanophotonic scintillators which lead to optimal performance and novel functionalities. Important design concepts include the use of absorbing structures inspired by solar cells, angularly-selective structures, and metasurfaces. Scintillators based on conventionally overlooked materials (such as GaAs or GaN) are also disclosed, which are designed to reach efficiencies comparable or superior to state-of-the-art conventional scintillators (such as YAG:Ce and LYSO). Such scintillators provide important enhancement of scintillation yield arising from incorporation of nanophotonic patterns. Additionally, nanophotonic scintillators designed in conjunction with image post processing algorithms (such as deconvolution algorithms, tomographic reconstruction, etc.) are disclosed. These scintillators are designed in order to increase robustness, minimize the required dose/scan time or even the number of scans required in scintillation imaging.

  • Publication number: 20250137351
Abstract: A check valve for use with a gas lift system containing a burst disc. The burst disc, when whole, prevents gas from flowing between the mandrel and the tubing. The burst disc is designed to burst when the operator applies a specific amount of pressure to the burst disc. Once ruptured, the burst disc no longer prevents gas from flowing from the mandrel un into the tubing.

Abstract: This disclosure describes a modular hydraulic manifold for controlling an operation of a hydraulic actuator for an earthmoving machine. The manifold has a spool chamber and a load sensing passageway. The body also has a spool positioned axially within the spool chamber. The spool is spring-biased by an end cap. The module also has a pair of spool actuators that are located at a second end of the body and operable to axially displace the spool within the spool chamber. The pair of spool actuators are positioned in parallel and disposed adjacent to one another. The manifold also has an inlet chamber disposed parallel to the spool chamber and in selective fluid communication with the spool chamber via a spool supply passageway. The body includes openings on opposite sides that open directly to inlet and spool chambers of adjacent bodies to reduce passageway constriction within the hydraulic system.

  • Publication number: 20250138727
Abstract: Apparatus and methods are disclosed for selection of characters from an electronic user interface. In one embodiment, a letter selection interface displays letters in a row, some of which are recordable by an input interpreter and others that are unrecordable. In one embodiment, unrecordable letters visually separate letters that are both (1) recordable, and (2) assigned to different but adjacent selection buttons. In response to received touch-screen activations, an interpreter records recordable letter selections and a display displays both recordable and unrecordable letter selections. The interpreter composes a sequence of the recorded letters. An algorithm identifies alternatives to the recorded sequence by editing one or more letters of the sequence, such that each edit changes a selected letter to an adjacent unrecordable letter. The algorithm outputs words that match the originally composed sequence or one of the identified alternatives.

  • Publication number: 20250142203
Abstract: An image capture system provides automated prompts for aiding a user in capturing images for use in 3D model creation. While a user is preparing to capture an image, the system provides visual indications that indicate whether a quality-based condition is satisfied. Based on the visual indications, a user can determine whether an image, if captured, would likely be suitable for use in creating a 3D model. Determining if the quality-based condition is satisfied may include monitoring output generated by one or more sensors and comparing the output against a threshold value. Additionally, the system may analyze the visual content or metadata associated with an image to determine if the quality-based condition is satisfied and request user input to further identify certain image features that were identified by the system.

  • Publication number: 20250142708
Abstract: An RF resonator cavity that includes a resonator coil is disclosed. Unlike traditional RF resonator cavities, no sulfur hexafluoride is used in this cavity. Rather, the volume of the RF resonator cavity is pumped to vacuum conditions. This may be done using a vacuum system, or by hermetically sealing the cavity. This approach eliminates the use of a potent greenhouse gas, while maintaining the integrity of the cavity. Specifically, the dielectric strength of the vacuum is greater than that of sulfur hexafluoride. This RF resonator cavity may be deployed in a linear accelerator used to implant ions into a workpiece.
