  • Patent number: 6585128
Abstract: A two stage splash guard structure is provided for an oil breather usable with an hydraulic fluid reservoir or tank. The first splash guard is provided within a neck portion preferably formed as part of the tank. A bowl-like cavity is formed within the neck portion and a ring-like chamber surrounds the cavity to serve as the first stage splash guard. An orifice is provided in the lower portion of the bowl to allow for the flow of air through the neck portion and into and out of the tank as the fluid in the tank shifts or rises and falls. A shelf is formed within the bowl to receive a second stage splash guard plate. A hollow adapter is then threadably secured within the neck portion to secure the second stage splash plate in place on the shelf and an air breather cap with the filtering element is threadably secured to the adapter.

  • Patent number: 6581704
Abstract: A mechanism for adjusting or setting the effort required to move the steering levers of a vehicle is provided. The mechanism consists of a central mounting plate with which three separate bolt and spring arrangements are connected to control the resistance at the levers when they are moved between their forward and reverse positions. The mechanism is separately connected with structure on a steering shaft to allow resistance at each of the levers to be adjusted without substantially affecting operation of the pumps. Consequently, the vehicle may be more effectively steered as a result not interfering with its tracking or bringing about creep thereof.

  • Publication number: 20020145325
Abstract: An armrest is provided for use in vehicle operator enclosures that have limited space. It is mounted to the sidewall rather than to the seat and is pivotable between lowered and raised positions to provide greater clearance for entry into and exit from the enclosure. The armrest is ergonomically configured to support the operator's arm and hand and minimize fatigue as he manipulates the hand controls. It is L-shaped with a first fore and aft extending leg portion that has a generally U-shaped surface configured to receive the elbow, forearm and wrist of the operator. It further includes a second generally transversely extending leg portion that also has a fore and aft extending generally U-shaped surface that is aligned with the U-shaped surface of the first leg portion. The two U-shaped surfaces are aligned with the control to support the operator's elbow, forearm and wrist as he manipulates the control.
