Abstract: Structures and processes for packaging produce in a manner that resists contamination due to dust, debris, and sunlight. According to certain embodiments of the present invention, fresh produce may be placed in a produce container having tabs extending from the top of the produce container walls. The tabs may preferably comprise a hook end. A produce container cover, preferably made from fiberboard or some other suitably lightweight material, comprising tab slots in locations complementary to the tabs of the produce container may be placed on the produce container as a cover. The tab slots of the produce container cover are configured to create a locking effect with the hook end of the tabs located on the produce container. This prevents the produce container cover from inadvertently being displaced during shipping and handling.

Abstract: A partition assembly is used in a container to divide the container into separate compartments and also as a display for the contents of the container. The partition assembly is comprised of at least one panel that is dimensioned to fit inside and divide the container into separate compartments. The at least one panel has indicia thereon and is adapted to be removed from the container and attached to the top edge of a wall of the container to display the indicia above the container.

Abstract: A partitioned container assembly for separating articles to be packaged in a container in a manner that facilitates ventilation of the compartments. The assembly includes one or more divider partitions configured to form an asymmetrical pattern of compartments and specially adapted separating sheets positioned between stacked divider partitions and aligned therewith to improve ventilation between layers of divider partitions without sacrificing functionality.
