  • Publication number: 20210393039
Abstract: A mattress foundation for inclusion as part of a bed, to support a mattress, such as one of the type made of foam material and usually marketed and shipped in a compressed, reduced-sized configuration. The mattress foundation is configured to be marketed and shipped to a purchaser as a set of subassemblies and parts that are contained together in a compact package and can be assembled without use of tools. The set of mattress foundation subassemblies and parts can be packed and shipped in a rectangular box made of material such as corrugated cardboard that may be flattened out and incorporated in the mattress foundation. The package in which the subassemblies and parts are contained is small enough to be carried up stairways and through passageways to a bedroom where a bed incorporating the mattress foundation is to be set up for use.

  • Publication number: 20040226550
Abstract: A barbeque grill includes a cooking grate within the interior space of a main housing for receiving food items to be cooked. A primary heat source is below the cooking grate for transmitting heat to food items located on the cooking grate. A secondary housing structure is located within the interior space and a secondary heat source is below the secondary housing for transmitting heat to the secondary housing. A container for receiving wood pellets is accessible from the exterior of the main housing and is positioned for delivering wood pellets to the secondary housing structure.

  • Patent number: 6125488
Abstract: A corner guard configured to attach to and protect the corner of a mattress foundation, as well as to receive selected ornamentation. The corner guard includes an impact-resistant core and a cover that overlies at least at portion of the core. In one embodiment of the invention, the cover is constructed of fabric and may be ornamented with patterns or indicia by a variety of techniques. The cover ensures that the ornamentation will not be damaged even if the corner guard must be bent to match the shape of the mattress foundation. Optionally, a foam layer may be positioned between the core and the cover to impart a quilted texture and appearance to the corner guard, and to provide additional padding for the mattress foundation.

  • Patent number: 5642547
Abstract: An attachment device for attaching an article of bedding to a mattress includes a generally flat gripper plate with a keyhole opening extending therethrough. A strip of elastic material attaches the gripper plate to the border of the mattress substantially halfway between the top and bottom surfaces of the mattress. A stud has head and base portions that are each too large to pass through the narrow region of the keyhole opening but at least the base portion is small enough to pass through the wide region of the keyhole opening. The stud has a neck portion that connects the base portion and the head portion and is narrow enough to enter the narrow region of the keyhole opening.

  • Patent number: 5632054
Abstract: A mattress has a corner at which two edges of the wall of the mattress meet. A handle has two end regions attached to the two edges respectively of the mattress wall adjacent the corner and has a medial portion that wraps around the corner. An elastic cord has two end regions attached to the two end regions respectively of the handle and has a medial portion that wraps around the corner of the mattress with the medial portion of the handle between the mattress and the medial portion of the cord. A gripper plate is attached to the plastic cord for securing a sheet or blanket to the mattress.

  • Patent number: 5161276
Abstract: A device for attaching bed sheets to a mattress. Preferably attached to the mattress during manufacture, the device includes a reinforcement such as a grommet for defining and strengthening an opening in the mattress covering material, an elongate, flexible and elastic connector, a bed sheet grip attached to the elongate connector, and a coupling interconnecting the elongate connector with the grommet. In a preferred embodiment, two grommets are mounted near a corner of a mattress, using a backing plate interconnecting the grommets, and two couplings connect the ends of the elongate connector to the mattress.

  • Patent number: 4862541
Abstract: A device for attaching a sheet to a mattress comprises an elongate, inextensible strap having first and second opposite ends. The strap is positionable under the mattress across a corner thereof with the first and second opposite ends projecting beyond the two edges respectively. A first fastener is attachable to the strap at the first end thereof and comprises a plate member and a stud. The plate member has two opposite sides and is formed with an elongate opening extending therethrough. The opening has two regions, one of which is narrower than the other. The stud has a base portion, a head portion and a neck portion. The neck portion connects the base portion and the head portion. The base portion is sized to pass through the wider region of the opening, but both the head portion and the base portion are too large to pass through the narrower region. The neck portion is sufficiently narrow to enter the narrower region of the opening. A second fastener is attachable to the strap at the second end thereof.

  • Patent number: 4660240
Abstract: A bed sheet attachment device for use in combination with a waterbed of the type having an upwardly open box-like base holding a fluid-filled flexible mattress. A flat first member of the attachment device defines an opening including a slot and a larger portion connected therewith. A cooperative stud has a neck which fits in the slot, and two larger portions on opposite ends of the neck. At least one of the larger portions of the stud is smaller than the larger part of the opening, so that the stud will fit matingly in the slot with a part of a bed sheet protruding through the slot and wrapped around the neck of the stud. A flexible elastic member connects the first member to the interior of the base of the waterbed, applying tension which urges the stud and sheet toward the narrow end of the slot and holds the sheet in place on the waterbed.
