  • Patent number: 7546825
Abstract: A fuel enrichment device includes a body forming a first fuel chamber and a second fuel chamber. The second fuel chamber is adapted to contain a predetermined amount of enriching fuel to be provided to an engine. A normally open valve connects the first fuel chamber to the second fuel chamber. A normally closed valve for controls the provision of enriching fuel to the engine. The normally closed valve is open whenever the normally open valve is closed.

  • Patent number: 7434502
Abstract: A chain saw includes a retaining assembly for a tensioning arrangement for adjusting the tension of the cutting chain in the chain saw. The retaining assembly includes a rotatable knob for operation with the chain saw's engine chassis, clutch cover, and guide bar and is rotatable about an axis of rotation between a tightening position for holding the guide bar in place and a loosening position enabling the guide bar to be repositioned whereby the tension in the cutting chain is adjusted. A locking mechanism is provided for locking and unlocking the knob. When the locking mechanism is in a locking position, moveable engagement points of the locking mechanism extended beyond the confines of the knob and engage fixed engagement points. When the locking mechanism is in the unlocking position, the moveable engagement points, having moved inwardly of the confines of the knob, are disengaged from the fixed engagement points.

  • Patent number: 7252065
Abstract: An energy-storing starting device for an internal combustion engine includes a starter pulley and a starter spring. A spring housing at least partially houses the starter spring. A toothed housing includes a plurality of ratchet teeth. A pawl member is adapted to provide a locking engagement with at least one of the ratchet teeth of the toothed housing to thereby prevent rotation of the toothed housing in an engine starting direction. An actuator is adapted to disengage the pawl member from the toothed housing to thereby permit the toothed housing to rotate. In one example, the starting device includes engagement structure adapted to bias a portion of the pawl towards at least one of the ratchet teeth of the toothed housing automatically when the starter pulley is rotated. In addition or alternatively, the toothed housing includes an interior area that at least partially receives the spring housing.

  • Patent number: 7155832
Abstract: A chain saw includes an engine, a chassis, and a clutch cover. A guide bar is adjustable relative to the chassis and the clutch cover, but stationary while in a secured position. An adjustment arrangement moves the guide bar to tension a chain, and includes a member operatively connected to the bar, intermeshed drive components to move the bar, and a manually engaged member that is operated without use of any tool. A guide bar securing arrangement has a knob rotatable between a tightened and loosened positions. In the loosened position, the guide bar may be adjusted. A knob handle of the securing arrangement is pivotable between a stowed position and an operation position. A lock arrangement, associated with the knob and knob handle, includes portions that cooperate to prevent the knob from rotating when the knob handle is in the stowed position.

  • Patent number: 7107689
Abstract: A retaining assembly is provided for a tensioning arrangement for adjusting the tension of the cutting chain in the chainsaw. The retaining assembly includes a knob body, a lock, and a lever. The lock and lever rotate about a common axis, which is perpendicular to an axis of rotation of the retaining assembly. The lock includes a tooth adapted to engage with teeth on a clutch cover of a chainsaw to lock the retaining assembly in place.
