Patent number: 11938835Abstract: A fuel cell system includes a fuel cell generator, a rechargeable energy storage circuit, an auxiliary load, a converter circuit, and a switch circuit. The fuel cell generator is operable to generate electrical power in a stack output signal. The auxiliary load is powered by the rechargeable energy storage circuit while in a first mode, and powered by a local signal while in a second mode. The converter circuit is operable to convert the stack output signal into a plurality of recharge signals while in the first mode and in the second mode, and convert the stack output signal into the local signal while in the second mode. The switch circuit is operable switch the plurality of recharge signals to one or more electric vehicles, and switch the local signal to the auxiliary load while in the second mode.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 2021Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Assignee: GM Global Technology Operations LLCInventors: Alan B. SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR B1-SELECTIVE EXCITATION FOR SPATIAL LOCALIZATION IN MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING
Publication number: 20240069134Abstract: A system and method is provided using a nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) system. The method includes applying an off-resonance radio frequency (RF) pulse using a radio-frequency coil that is spatially inhomogeneous to induce a B1-dependent resonant frequency shift in spins in a subject and, in the presence of the off-resonance RF pulse, applying a frequency-modulated, frequency-selective RF excitation pulse to spatially encode the spins in the subject. The method also includes acquiring NMR data from the subject that is spatially encoded and reconstructing the NMR data to produce a report of internal materials forming the subject.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 24, 2022Publication date: February 29, 2024Inventors: Jonathan B. Patent number: 5374017Abstract: The present invention is directed to a cable fitting for insertion in a protective enclosure. The fitting includes one or more cable channels and is constructed of a first staging portion for attachment to the electrical enclosure and a second portion which incorporates strain relief features with gripping teeth for clamping the cable. The fitting is designed for use with one or more cables. In use, it is installed in the panel to the staging position depth, the cable or cables are inserted through the fitting and the panel into the box to the desired position for clamping, and the fitting is inserted into the panel to the installed position to lock the fitting to the box and to clamp the cable within the fitting. The fitting may also be fully inserted and the cable or cables installed thereafter.Type: GrantFiled: May 7, 1992Date of Patent: December 20, 1994Inventors: William B. Martin, John W. Martin, Mark L. Bryan

Patent number: 4919370Abstract: The present invention is directed to a cable fitting for insertion in a protective enclosure. The fitting includes a plurality of cable channels and is constructed of a first staging portion for attachment to the electrical enclosure and a second portion which incorporates strain relief features with gripping teeth for clamping the cable. The fitting is designed for use with one or two cables. In use, it is installed in the enclosure to the staging position depth, the cables are inserted through the fitting via the cable channels into the box to the desired position for clamping, and the fitting is driven to the installed position to lock the fitting to the box and the cable within the fitting. The fitting may also be fully inserted and the cables installed thereafter.Type: GrantFiled: February 17, 1989Date of Patent: April 24, 1990Inventors: William B. Martin, John W. Martin, Mark Bryan

Patent number: 4825723Abstract: A compound planetary gear assembly has multiple ring gears driven by a set of planet gears and coupled to multiple loads. Two of the ring gears are coupled to a common load via mechanical reaction paths of substantially different lengths to permit the entire assembly to fit within an envelope of reduced overall size. The shorter mechanical reaction path incorporates a compliant gear member which decreases the stiffness or spring rate of the shorter path to correspond substantially with the stiffness or spring rate of the longer path thereby insuring symmetric loading of the planet gears for smooth operation.Type: GrantFiled: September 4, 1987Date of Patent: May 2, 1989Assignee: Allied-Signal Inc.Inventor: William B. Patent number: 4674757Abstract: A wheel for use with a variety of devices for moving a load up or down a series of stairs is disclosed, which wheel is comprised of a plurality of lobes like teeth on a gear. Each lobe has two surfaces which are symmetrical around a lobe center line, with each surface being made up of a portion of an involute curve defined by a circle having a particular radius. The involute curves making up the surfaces of each lobe mirror each other on opposite sides of the center line and intersect to form the lobe at the largest radii of the portions of the involute curves making up the surfaces of the lobe. The wheel may be made to specifications allowing exact fit on a particular size stairstep and a properly fitting wheel will move in a close approximation of a straight line parallel to the staircase incline as it moves up a flight of stairs.Type: GrantFiled: June 24, 1985Date of Patent: June 23, 1987Inventor: William B. Patent number: 4434881Abstract: A disconnect member is spline-connected to one end of the connecting drive shaft of an engine and a driven accessory, and is axially translatable into and out of coupling engagement with the engine. The disconnect member has a spiraled, axially ramped cam surface formed thereon which cooperates with a rotatable cam follower selectively movable into engagement therewith to axially drive the rotating disconnect member relative to the cam follower, thereby uncoupling the engine from its driven accessory. When the cam follower is disengaged from the cam surface, a reset spring automatically recouples the disconnect member to the engine.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 1981Date of Patent: March 6, 1984Assignee: The Garrett CorporationInventors: Jpseph Denk, William B. Patent number: 4346074Abstract: A pasteurella vaccine e.g. for use with cattle or particularly sheep, comprises antigenic material derived from the A1 and A2 serotypes of Pasteurella haemolytica, the A1 serotype antigenic material comprising capsular extract, e.g. especially salicylate extract, and the A2 serotype antigenic material comprising heat-killed whole organisms, and a process for the production of a pasteurellosis vaccine comprises preparing said antigenic material from P. haemolytica organisms and formulating the antigenic material into a vaccine, e.g. especially an aluminium hydroxide gel/oil adjuvant vaccine. Also a method for use in agricultural animal husbandry for the prevention and control of pasteurellosis in sheep, cattle and other animals comprises vaccinating the animals with a vaccine according to the invention.Type: GrantFiled: April 23, 1980Date of Patent: August 24, 1982Assignee: National Research Development Corp.Inventors: Neil J.
