  • Patent number: 6754668
Abstract: A multilingual system provides dynamic flipping of a displayed form from one language to another. The forms include a plurality of fields each of which includes properties that allow the form to be displayed in accordance with the conventions of the selected language. When switching from one language to another, the form field properties are modified to properly display the form in the new language.

  • Publication number: 20030085910
Abstract: A system for providing information on a computer map display indicates symbol and data components associated with one or more map display symbols. The system provides a symbol expansion display that can be applied to various map display symbols, including normal, cluttered, and de-cluttered.

  • Publication number: 20030074406
Abstract: A system for sharing computer data between two or more sharing partners. The system includes copying of first private data from a first private data memory of a first sharing partner, to a first shared data memory associated with the first sharing partner. The system further includes a replication of the first shared data from the first shared data memory to a second shared data memory associated with a second sharing partner.

  • Patent number: 5634053
Abstract: A FIM system integrates data from a plurality of interconnected local databases to provide users with access to a virtual database. The FIM includes a user interface for generating a global query to search the virtual database, a smart dictionary database (SDD) that contains configuration data, a data information manager (DIM) that decomposes the global query into local queries, and a plurality of local information managers (LIMs) that execute the local queries to search for and retrieve data from the enumerated databases. A filter generates a list of those local databases that contain information relevant to the global query. As a result, the DIM only generates local queries for the enumerated local databases. An input translator converts the global query into the respective local formats for the local databases so that the FIM provides true integration of heterogeneous databases.

  • Patent number: 5586204
Abstract: Integrity checking apparatus and procedures for checking safety-critical high throughput data and image transformations. The present invention randomly samples input and output data streams and uses the sampled data in either a forward or backward transformation to verify that the input data and output data are consistent. Because only a small fraction of the overall data is examined, the computational workload is very small by comparison, and processing may be more efficiently implemented. More particularly, in order to check the data, input data is transformed into output data, the output data is sampled, the input data is sampled corresponding to the sampled output data, and the input data is calculated from the output data, using forward or backward (inverse) data transformations. If the sampled input data and sampled output data correspond, then the output data is deemed to be correct. If the data does not correspond, then an error signal is generated.

  • Patent number: 4460244
Abstract: The present invention pertains to a display utilizing a plurality of display prisms in a single device each of which can be separately actuated so that there can be more messages available to a user than surfaces on the prisms due to the interaction of messages on a cooperative basis.
