  • Patent number: 5745338
Abstract: The present invention relates to a circuit breaker device for assembly and electrical connection of modular power apparatuses. This device is designed to perform electrical connection of a plurality of power apparatuses, such as circuit breakers, installed together on the same mounting rail with auxiliary units. The set of electrical power apparatuses are electrically connected and/or supplied with power up-line by a connecting comb. This comb is in the form of a bus comprising at least one conducting bar extending generally parallel to the longitudinal direction of the rail and generally perpendicularly to one of the faces of the cases, the bars each being connected to one of the phases or to the neutral. Contact strips of the power apparatuses are electrically and selectively connected up-line to one conducting bar by a connector in the form of double-blades or double-grips, cooperating via one of their ends with the contact strips of the apparatuses and via their opposite ends with the conducting bars.

  • Patent number: 4916420
Abstract: An operating mechanism of an electrical circuit breaker comprises a handle coupled to a transmission rod to form a toggle, a movable contact support device having a plate mounted with rotation on a pivot, and a mechanical link breakable by the action of a trip lever. The link is formed by a retaining catch of the trip lever cooperating with a latch pivotally mounted on a spindle of the plate. The rod is coupled directly to the latch, the assembly constituting a gearing-down stage enabling the tripping force to be reduced. The bimetal strip is connected to the trip lever by a rotating tie-rod with uni-directional transmission.

  • Patent number: 4740770
Abstract: A mechanism for a circuit breaker includes a support lever insulated from a contact arm and a trip lever supported by a plate fitted with limited swivelling on a pivot. A mechanical link arranged between a toggle-joint and the contact arm includes a latching stop fixed on the plate. The stop is formed by a notch cooperating with a step of the trip lever to push the end of a toggle rod back to a retracted unlatched positon, as soon as the trip lever is actuated to the tripped position. The support lever is equipped with a locking arm having a sloping part cooperating with a pawl of the handle to form a high-speed contact closing device.

  • Patent number: 4714907
Abstract: The invention relates to a multiple moving contact assembly for a miniature circuit breaker with high ratings and a thermomagnetic trip release. The moving contact part of the circuit breaker includes two independent contact arms connected in parallel and mounted on a transverse spindle of the cradle. The arms are connected to a magnetic circuit of the electromagnetic trip release by two braids situated in symmetrical lateral areas. The contact parts bear on a single stationary contact pad so as to create two contact points enabling the temperature rise to be reduced. The electromagnetic top release has a coil including a tail arranged as an adjustable support device of a bimetallic strip, through whose foot the current flows thicknesswise.

  • Patent number: 4687891
Abstract: The invention relates to a fast closing mechanism of a circuit breaker with an operating handle. The mechanism comprises an energy storage spring disposed between the handle and an intermediate lever supporting a transmission rod. A retaining plate operates in conjunction with a pin of the handle to occupy either an active position locking the rod during loading of the spring, or a retracted position unlocking the rod allowing the spring to be released at the end of closing travel.
