Publication number: 20250011066Abstract: This invention removes air moisture from inside a hot food container by first straightening the convection air flow rising above hot food, and second redirecting the rising air at a sharp turn, forcing the momentum of the heavier water-laden air to continue a straight trajectory into an absorbent pad or similar material, where the water from the air collides with the absorbent surface and is trapped. In this way, the invention extracts water from the air, before it can condense on food, thereby preventing the food to from becoming soggy. The invention is embodied in a food storage comprising four principal elements: (a) a housing for enclosing hot food, (b) a plurality of parallel passageways mounted inside the housing, (c) an absorbent layer positioned above the plurality of parallel passageways, and (d) a gap between the plurality of parallel passageways and the absorbent layer.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 17, 2022Publication date: January 9, 2025Inventor: William Birgen

Patent number: 12031354Abstract: In general, the present invention is incorporated in a cam lock housing that is securable relative to a drawer or door. Coupled to the cam lock housing is an actuator package. The actuator package of this exemplary cam lock system can include a retractable geared plate or tongue, a micro gear motor, a controller, and a power system. In operation, the drive gear/pinion causes lateral displacement of tongue towards or away from a latch in order to lock or unlock the item. As such, a medicine cabinet (or similar), can be remotely locked or unlocked. Alternatively, rotation of a physical key within the cam lock rotates the cam lock housing and the tongue towards or away from a latch so that the cam lock can also be operated manually.Type: GrantFiled: June 1, 2021Date of Patent: July 9, 2024Inventors: Justin Zastrow, Ira Hayes, William Birgen

Patent number: 11952196Abstract: A method, a food container, a lid, and absorbent pad for a food container that actively removes moisture in the food container without changing the food temperature inside the container in a meaningful way are disclosed herein. The removal of moisture is achieved by introducing a cold spot (below the dew point temperature) at or within the absorbent pad, which is inside the food container. This cold spot forces condensation of moisture from the air to form locally on the absorbent pad. The condensed moisture is then captured by an absorbent element placed below, and preferably adjacent to/collocated with, the cold spot and between the cold spot and the stored food. The cold spot is preferably achieved by a properly chosen frozen substance such as an ice cube or a frozen gel packet or ice suspended inside an absorbent pad.Type: GrantFiled: June 11, 2021Date of Patent: April 9, 2024Inventor: William Birgen

Publication number: 20230417679Abstract: A carrier with a reagent selected to detect a contaminant and provide an alert is provided on a media in the environment of a consumable containing the contaminant and at a temperature below the dew point of the environment, which causes condensation of the media and allows for detection and alert of the contaminant.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 17, 2021Publication date: December 28, 2023Applicant: SAVR Pak CorporationInventors: William Birgen, Grant Stafford

Patent number: 11571599Abstract: This invention is embodied by a controlled, variable tension line, payout reel machine. A system of sensors detect line tension and line distance paid out, location, and transmit through wired and unwired communication to a microprocessor. The microprocessor is co-located with the reel structure, which in turn applies, via a brake feature, resistance to the reel which is paying out the line being pulled by the user. This invention pertains to all applications where it is desirable to control the tension in a line paid out from a reel or reel. As stated, the payout motive force is supplied by the person, animal or apparatus attached to the end of the line, opposite the reel. The invention applies to the field of precise and measured control of line tension for sport, sport training, performance testing.Type: GrantFiled: November 9, 2020Date of Patent: February 7, 2023Assignee: Kyllburg Technologies, LLCInventor: William Birgen

Patent number: 11391065Abstract: Method and its enabling device for remote wireless micro-latching for security purposes, comprising at least one user or controller, one mobile communication device, and one secured device, whereas said user is enabled to open or close a micro-latch in said a secured device, for instant a safe box or a medical cabinet, allowing access to secured content, including money, ID card, checks, as well as medicine. Also disclosed is a multiplicity of said devices and their preprogrammed remote control by computer or mobile app. The micro-latching can be amplified to macro-latching, for instance by a micro-solenoid switching a high power electrical switch bank or relay, which in turn initiates industrial processes.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 2018Date of Patent: July 19, 2022Assignee: Smart Armor Protected, LLCInventors: Justin Zastrow, Ira Hayes, William Birgen

The removal of moisture is achieved by introducing a cold spot (below the dew point temperature) inside the food container that forces condensation of moisture near the cold spot. The condensed moisture is then captured by an absorbent element placed below, and preferably adjacent to/collocated with, the cold spot and between the cold spot and the stored food. The cold spot is preferably achieved by a properly chosen frozen substance such as an ice cube or a frozen gel packet or ice trapped inside an absorbent pad.Type: GrantFiled: January 8, 2019Date of Patent: May 11, 2021Assignee: SAVR Pak Inc.Inventor: William Birgen
