Abstract: A method for storing a pre-designed digital template having a number of digital openings for displaying at least one digital image within each opening. Each opening has stored required image attributes associated with it for finding appropriate images to place in the opening. At least one of the non-primary image files has a satisfactory required image attribute score as computed by the computer system which is based on a required image attribute for an associated opening where an image of the at least one other of the non-primary image files will be displayed. The required image attribute itself is based upon at least one of the image attributes of the primary image file.

A computer system comprising stored digital templates for said image display can be operated by a user to generate the image display. The templates each have a plurality of digital openings for displaying digital images and each of those openings has a required image attribute. The dependent opening is dependent on an image attribute of an image captured by a capture device coupled to the computer system, which includes scanners and cameras. Abstract: A computer implemented method for automatically generating an artist coordinated image display based upon a user's favorite image or images. A plurality of digital image templates are stored in a computer accessible memory each having programmed characteristics associated therewith that are designed by an artist with one window being a primary window. The characteristics of the template can be programmed and stored, including number, location, shape, color, etc, of windows in the digital template. Color and texture characteristics of a body of the template can be selected to resemble, for example, a frame, which will eventually hold the printed images of the template for display.
