  • Publication number: 20070284863
Abstract: An airbag module integrates the components required for gas generation, thereby eliminating the need for a separate inflation component. The airbag module can comprise a cover with a pocket, a gas generant container, an inflatable cushion an upper and lower retainer housing, and an inflation gas generation system in fluid communication with the cushion. The airbag module does not comprise a discrete inflator that is functional outside the assembled airbag module. The gas generant container houses a package of solid gas generating compound. The energetic materials of the propellant do not become functional as a gas generation source until the cover is secured to the lower retainer housing.

  • Publication number: 20070153535
Abstract: A steering wheel comprises a rim connected to spokes. A covering material is provided to enclose at least a portion of the rim and/or the spokes. The covering material includes an outer cover and a light element positioned under the outer cover. The light element is configured to emit light through at least a portion of the outer cover. The light element is positioned over a casing that is provided to give shape to the steering wheel so that a vehicle driver may easily grasp the steering wheel. The light element may provide continuous, pulsed, or non-continuous lighting.

  • Publication number: 20070145140
Abstract: A barcode system includes an apparatus with a first subcomponent and a second subcomponent. The first subcomponent has a first barcode portion, and the second subcomponent has a second barcode portion. When the first subcomponent is correctly assembled with the second subcomponent, the first barcode portion is correctly aligned with the second barcode portion, such that a readable barcode is formed by the first and second barcode portions. The barcode system also includes a scanner for reading the readable barcode formed by the first and second barcode portions. The scanner may be connected to a display to display output from the scanner.

  • Publication number: 20060213314
Abstract: A steering wheel of hub-and-spoke configuration including a hub, a plurality of spokes and a ring portion, wherein the spokes place the ring into material contact with the hub. The first spoke of the steering wheel includes an armature support, while the second spoke of the steering wheel does not include an armature support. The second spoke may be primarily made from polyurethane foam. The second spoke may be located at a lower portion of the steering wheel, and the lower portion of the steering wheel deforms more easily than a portion of the steering wheel proximate to the first spoke.
