  • Publication number: 20210032149
Abstract: A glass manufacturing apparatus includes an enclosure including an interior area and a vessel positioned at least partially within the interior area of the enclosure. The vessel includes a trough and a forming wedge including a pair of downwardly inclined surfaces that converge at a root of the vessel. A draw plane extends from the root of the vessel through an opening of the enclosure in a draw direction. The apparatus includes a thermal shield moveable along an adjustment direction extending perpendicular to the draw plane. • Patent number: 10612129
Abstract: Provided herein are ion-implanted glass based articles with improved flaw suppression properties. The ion-implanted glass based articles generally have a final indent fracture threshold (IFT) load of at least 650 grams, and/or a scratch threshold force of at least 10 N, which represents at least 1.25-fold enhancement compared to the glass based article prior to ion-implantation. Factors affecting the efficacy of the ion implantation process can include the IFT load of the starting glass or glass ceramic substrate (native IFT load), ion type, ion dose, implant energy, beam current, and glass temperature.

  • Patent number: 9284211
Abstract: Methods provide for post processing at least one flexible glass sheet with the step of providing the glass sheet with an initial shape. The method then further includes the step of flexing the glass sheet into a secondary shape from the initial shape. The method then further includes the step of post processing the glass sheet while biasing the glass sheet into the secondary shape. The method then still further includes the step of releasing the glass sheet to at least partially return to the initial shape.
