  • Patent number: 8430278
Abstract: A floating fluid inlet that adjusts to the level of a beverage within a soda keg or similar container. The floating fluid inlet is constructed preferably of stainless steel and food grade plastic tubing. By rotating its inlet port aperture from downward facing when the soda keg is full of a beverage, to upward facing when the soda keg is nearly empty, the floating fluid inlet avoids picking up sediment from the bottom of the soda keg. The principal components are a tube that connects at its one end to the outlet port of a soda keg and at its other end to a pickup tube that is retained within a bracket to which is attached a float. The pickup tube has an aperture disposed in its sidewall for ingress of a beverage.

  • Patent number: 8141477
Abstract: A mash/lauter tun and method of converting grains to wort. The mash/lauter tun comprises a container with a double false bottom filter having two perforated plates disposed parallel with a space therebetween for receiving filtration media. The container further comprises thermometers extending to near the center of the tun and a rotating heat exchanger. In use, mash is loaded into the container and heated via the rotating heat exchanger by passing hot fluid through the rotating heat exchanger. The mash is then sparged by increasing pressure in the rotating heat exchanger above a threshold pressure via closure an outlet valve of the heat exchanger. The wort then passes through the double false bottom filter and is subsequently transferred to a brew kettle for boiling.

  • Patent number: 7008646
Abstract: A dry powder cubic gel precursor comprising an encapsulating compound, an amphiphile capable of forming a cubic liquid crystalline phase, and optionally a solvent. The encapsulating compound (A), amphiphile (B), and optional solvent (C) are present in mass fractions relative to each other such that 1.0=a+b+c wherein a is the mass fraction of A, b is the mass fraction of B, and c is the mass fraction of C. Further, 1.0>a>0, 1.0>b>0, 1.0>c>0 and a, b, and c do not fall within a cubic liquid crystalline phase region on a phase diagram representing phase behavior of A, B, and C.

  • Patent number: 3954034
Abstract: A rotary cutting mechanism for the accurate, repetitive, controlled, pattern spacing of slits in thin flexible sheet material. The mechanism comprises a pair of rolls with one of the rolls having a plurality of blades spaced at intervals about its circumference. Each blade contains a plurality of cutting edges. The other roll has a plurality of platen bars spaced in a manner to cooperate with each cutting edge. Both of the rolls have steel bearers mounted at their ends with the bearers on the rolls having the same diameter as the outer edges of the cutting edges and of the platen bars to precisely control the cutting action of the mechanism.
