  • Publication number: 20230414300
Abstract: A surgical tool includes an elongate shaft, an end effector arranged at a distal end of the shaft and including opposing jaws, and an articulable wrist interposing the end effector and the shaft and comprising a plurality of articulation links arranged in series along a longitudinal length of the wrist. A closure redirect mechanism includes first and second rigid links arranged proximal to the wrist, first and second transfer mechanisms pivotably mounted to the first and second rigid links, respectively, first and second transfer links interposing the end effector and the wrist, and first and second tension members extending distally from the first and second transfer mechanisms, respectively, and being secured to the first and second transfer links, respectively. Moving the first rigid link relative to the second rigid link, and vice versa, causes the first and second transfer links to correspondingly move and thereby open or close the jaws.

  • Publication number: 20090150218
Abstract: The system enables a consumer to receive promotional offers using a mobile communications device. The mobile communications device includes a client application that enables the consumer to assign preference levels associated with promotional offer categories. The mobile communications device transmits a consumer identifier, a location identifier, and preference levels to an application server. The application server uses the preference levels and other information included in a consumer profile associated with the consumer identifier to select promotional offers that are likely to be of interest to the consumer. The application server transmits map data including indicators of locations of local merchants to the mobile communications device. The client application causes the mobile communications device to display the map data, and enables the consumer to request promotional offers from selected merchants.

  • Publication number: 20050049126
Abstract: A multi-function end effector includes a plurality of tool change mechanisms in a housing in which a spindle is also mounted for translation along an axis of the spindle. Each tool change mechanism has a gripper that releasably grips a tool holder in which a tool is mounted. The gripper of each tool change mechanism is movable between a stowed position to a tool-change position in which the gripper is coaxially aligned with the axis of the spindle for placing a tool holder held in the gripper in a position to be received by the spindle and for positioning the gripper to receive a tool holder from the spindle. The tools mounted in the tool holders include a drill bit, a countersink tool, and a fastener insertion tool. The end effector also includes a fastener feed system, a hammer device, and a sealant applicator.

  • Patent number: 5744270
Abstract: The novel method for producing a coded marking on a CRT faceplate panel having an exterior and an interior surface with a viewing area surrounded by a periphery and having a luminescent screen with a plurality of different light-emitting phosphors separated by light-absorbing material includes the steps of: depositing a suitable photoresist on the interior surface of the panel to form a layer that extends across the viewing area and onto the periphery; illuminating areas of the photoresist on both the viewing area and the periphery with actinic radiation to selectively change the solubility of the photoresist; developing the photoresist to remove the more soluble areas, thereby exposing underlying portions of the interior surface of the panel while leaving retained areas of less soluble photoresist. The retained areas of the photoresist and the exposed portions of the interior surface of the panel are then overcoated with a light-absorbing material which is dried to form a coating.

  • Patent number: 3984138
Abstract: An apparatus for retrieving individual or a plurality of balls such as tennis balls from a playing court and for automatically storing the balls which includes a metal wire or rod frame in which the retrieved balls are stored. The frame has an exit opening at one end and an entrance opening at an opposite end thereof. Restraining rods are secured across the entrance opening and are positioned in the entrance opening to define a plurality of entry spaces of graduated dimensions, all less than the diameter of a ball so that the ball must be squeezed through the entry spaces into the central storage area afforded by the frame.
