  • Patent number: 9249644
Abstract: A process of manufacturing a well closure apparatus and using it downhole by releasing components contained within the apparatus. The well closure apparatus is an internal bidirectional tubing plug that is adapted for insertion into a tubing string for sealing the tubing string internally while running the tubing into a fluid filled well. The tubing plug is comprised of a body having an inner surface with a recess or passage extending through the body from one end to the other. The recess holds petals and a keystone petal that are held within the recess by a cork and the cork is held in place by a nut. At depth, the tubing is filled with well fluid, the tubing plug is released at a predetermined hydraulic pressure, and the pieces of the releasing components are pumped to the bottom of the well or are circulated out of the well.

  • Patent number: 8985224
Abstract: An internal bidirectional tubing plug for plugging a well to prevent well fluids from passing the plug in a well conduit until the internal components of the plug are pumped out of its body. The body of the plug connects to the well's tubing string. The body holds a petal assembly consisting of several petals and a tapered cork assembly located within an opening formed by the petals. Both assemblies are sandwiched between upper and lower pistons. Hydrostatic pressure on the bottom of the plug as it is lowered into the fluid filled well holds the petals within the body. The internal components of the plug are removed from the body by applying hydraulic pressure in the upper area of the plug. This causes the plug to fail at a recess provided in the cork, resulting in the two assemblies and the pistons being forced out of the body.

  • Patent number: 7740151
Abstract: A hand operated air pump apparatus comprising an internal bellows in communication with an outer bellows wherein variable force on air pump forces compressed air through a discharge valve into a annulus between a bottle and a flexible bladder wherein said pump is attached upon a container or bottle like vessel wherein pumping action forces from bottle highly viscous substances, that may contain solid or abrasive particles, through a discharge spout without internal substance being contaminated by air or other environmental factors thus allowing for an improved method of removing all contents within a container with greater ease.

  • Publication number: 20060006218
Abstract: The invention features a mailbox indicator for determining when the daily mail courier has deposited mail in a rural or suburban mailbox. The mailbox indicator features a pivotal rod, which is pivotally secured to a base. The base is attached to the top of the front end of a mailbox in proximity to, and extending out beyond, the door latch.

  • Patent number: 5014131
Abstract: A clutter rejection filter for use in detecting moving targets which may be employed in a passive optical acquisition system. The filter comprises a plurality of detector elements which view an image scene. A plurality of transversal filters are individually coupled to the plurality of detector elements. Each of the transversal filters amplitude weight signals provided by the respective detector elements as a function of time, with each of the transversal filters having a predetermined impulse response. Summing circuitry is coupled to each of the transversal filters for combining the output signals provided thereby into a single output signal for the filter. The filter provides output signals which are maximized for objects traveling at a first velocity and minimized for objects traveling at a second velocity.

  • Patent number: 4041718
Abstract: In a sealing device for sealing the gap between a tubular leg or a tubular piling can and a pile passing therethrough for supporting a permanent platform at sea, which sealing device comprises a first part in the form of an annular sealing element and a second part, through which the pile can pass, in the form of an annular protective guard for the sealing element, both parts being coaxial with the leg or can, the guard, before a seal is made with the pile, lying between the sealing element and the pile, there being means provided which, in use, enable such relative movement in an axial direction between the guard and the sealing element, that the guard no longer protects the sealing element which is thus free to make sealing contact between the pile and the leg or can, the provision of a plurality of support members pivotally connected adjacent the sealing element, the support members lying between the sealing element and the guard before a seal is made with the pile such that, when relative axial movement t
