  • Patent number: 7156053
Abstract: An animal insecticide applicator is presented. The applicator includes a bag for holding a quantity of insecticide, the bag having a top, two sides and a bottom. The bag is formed of a first layer of coarse mesh material through which powder insecticide can pass. A rigid tubular support is coupled with and extends across the top of the bag. A first tie rope is secured to and extends at least partially across a first side of the bag and then through the tubular support in a first direction. This tie rope terminates in a length which is hanging free at a second side of the bag. The second tie rope is secured to and extends at least partially along the second side of the bag. This tie rope is passed through the tubular support in the opposite direction of the first tie rope and includes the length hanging free at the first side of the bag. In one embodiment the applicator also includes couplers for joining two identical bags together.

  • Patent number: 6557493
Abstract: An applicator for applying a treatment material to an animal comprising an elongated, flexible, resilient, hollow brace member and an elongated, hollow swing element. These components are made of conventional CPVC pipe having an outside diameter of about ⅝ inch. The brace member is about 5 feet long and the swing element is about 2.5 feet long. An end of the swing element is swingably connected to and end of the brace member using a piece of rope. The opposite ends of a plurality of brace members are implanted in the ground in a predetermined plot at an angle of about 60° such that the swing elements dangle from the upper ends of the brace members. An insecticide gel is applied to the outer surfaces of the swing elements and brace members and a feed for the animal is spread on the ground in the plot. When the animal feeds, the brace members bend and the swing elements swing around so as to spread the insecticide gel all over the skin of the animal including its underside and lower leg areas.

  • Patent number: 5447122
Abstract: A dusting device for applying powdered insecticide to animals has a bag with opposing side panels and a bottom portion. The bottom portion accommodates the flow of insecticide therethrough. Two cartridge receiving compartments are adopted to allow insecticide to flow therethrough and are disposed inside of the bag. Each compartment has opposing side panels, a load opening for inserting a cartridge, and a bottom portion disposed above the bottom portion of the bag. The compartments are laterally oriented with respect to each other such that the side panels of one of the compartments are disposed generally in an end-to-end orientation with the side panels of the other compartment.

  • Patent number: 4091809
Abstract: An eyeshield for protecting an eye of a domestic animal or human from sunlight, insects and dust while permitting vision is formed of an upper light opaque lid covering portion joined to a lower eye protecting portion formed of a light and moisture permeable but insect and dust impermeable portion. A portion of the shield extends outwardly along the line of attachment between the upper and lower portions, thus acting as a sunshade and the novel sunshade is formed so as to have a convex shape outward from the eye when worn.

  • Patent number: 3972309
Abstract: A self dusting cartridge loading protected livestock applicator comprising an inner porous bag having filling means and flexible protective material substantially surrounding and overly covering the bag. The flexible protective material extends below the inner porous bag forming folds which curl upward toward the bottom of the inner porous bag and preferably extend upward with a porous material that contacts and transfers dust from the inner bag to itself and to an animal. The applicator is constructed so that when it is agitated by an animal the guard or protective material cause dust to be dispensed on the agitating animal and at the same time provide some protection to the more vulnerable inner bag. The filling means is a reclosable fastener secured to an upper end portion of the bag which when opened permits immediate access to the inside of the inner porous storing and dusting bag and which when closed prevents substantial penetration by moisture into the bag.
