  • Publication number: 20170292640
Abstract: A multi seal extension for an air valve (MSEFAV) that functions in combination with a conventional air valve having an air valve stem in order to extend the length of the stem, thus facilitating the insertion of air via the valve from a greater distance. The MSEFAV includes a rotating securement sleeve, an extension tube, and a stem interface. Inserted into, and attached to, the extension tube is the stem interface, which has multiple seals: a first, end of valve seal; a second, inner thread seal; and a third, core seal. The inclusion and use of the seals provides significantly increased air retention, and projection against moisture and dirt from entering the MSEFAV and air valve, over conventional valve extension designs.

  • Patent number: 8984937
Abstract: A tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) wheel mounting bracket that is designed to attach a TPMS to an air flow tube having means for being attached to a vehicle wheel rim. The TPMS wheel mounting bracket includes a first end that terminates with a vertical section having a threaded bore, and a second end that terminates with a tube/bracket attachment bore. When a threaded bolt is inserted through a bracket attachment bore located on the TPMS and into the threaded bore on the vertical section, the TPMS is secured to the first end of the TPMS wheel mounting bracket. The tube/bracket attachment bore located on the second end is dimensioned to fit over the air inlet tube that is secured to the TPMS mounting bracket by means of a bolt.

  • Patent number: 8671747
Abstract: A TPMS monitor mounting bracket consisting of a flat square base having a centrally located clearance hole therein. The bracket includes an upward-extending S-shaped angular arm that is integral with the base. The bracket also includes a first flat mounting surface located on the same horizontal plane above the square base, and includes a centered first tapped hole. An upward-extending inverted V-shaped angular arm having a second flat mounting surface integral with and positioned essentially 87-degrees from the square base, and having an centered second tapped hole therein. A hollow screw is disposed within the square base clearance hole for attachment to a tire inflation valve, and a threaded screw engages the S-shaped angular arm tapped hole for attachment of a TPMS monitor into a steel or aluminum wheel.

  • Patent number: 8567241
Abstract: An adapter assembly for attaching a tire pressure monitor onto an inflation valve which incorporates a distal end flange. An adapter is included in the assembly that consists of a collar having a configuration sized to fit over and be internally retained by the valve distal end flange. An O-ring is positioned on the flange contiguously engaging the collar. A tire pressure monitoring cap is threadably attached to the collar which is disposed above and compresses the O-ring between the cap, collar and valve end flange. The adapter permits the tire pressure monitor to be attached, for use with a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and also prevents minor air leaks. A fourth embodiment incorporates an outward-extending integral arm formed with the collar for mounting the TPMS sensor on the drop center of the wheel.

  • Publication number: 20110272038
Abstract: An adapter assembly is taught for attaching a tire pressure monitor onto an inflation valve which incorporates a distal end flange. An adapter is included in the assembly consisting of a collar having a configuration sized to fit over and be internally retained by the valve distal end flange, and an O-ring is positioned on the flange contiguously engaging the collar. A tire pressure monitoring cap is threadably attached to the collar which is disposed above and compresses the O-ring between the cap, collar and valve end flange. The adapter permits the tire pressure monitor to be attached, for use with a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and also could prevent possible minor air leaks. The adapter may be packaged in a kit with appropriate instructions. Alternatively the tire inflation valve could be included with the adapter, forming the adapter assembly, or the monitor could be included in either case, when desired.

  • Patent number: 7093632
Abstract: A dual-wheel valve stem stabilizing clip (20) that is used for immobilizing a reverse-mounted valve (40) mounted on dual truck wheels (28). The clip consists of pair of U-shaped spring brackets (22), with each including an S-shaped outer distal end (24). The brackets are positioned on top of each other with the outer distal ends at opposite extremities. A number of adjustment holes (26) in each bracket align together to permit a variation in overall length. A spring doubler shim (32) that is configured in a U-shape and is sandwiched on top of each spring bracket to provide additional rigidity to the spring brackets. A valve stem cushion (38) is compressed within brackets and shims and receives and secures the valve on an inner wheel of dual truck wheels. Threaded fasteners attach the brackets and shims together to form a clip capable of being manually bent in an arc shape and snapped into a hand hole (30) of an outer truck wheel rim in order to stabilize the valve stem installed on an inner truck wheel rim.
