  • Patent number: 8397883
Abstract: A controllable brake includes a housing and a rotor supported on a shaft. The rotor is housed within a chamber containing a field controllable material which is acted upon by a magnetic field generator to impede movement of the rotor. The shaft is supported by bearings. The controllable brake housing defines a second housing chamber adapted to enclose means for monitoring and/or controlling the brake and in this way, an integrated, compact controllable brake is provided.

  • Publication number: 20100294603
Abstract: A controllable brake with a shaft having an axis of rotation and a shaft end. The controllable brake including a controllable brake rotor connected with the shaft, the rotor having a rotation plane. The controllable brake includes a controllable brake magnetic field generator located proximate the controllable brake rotor, the controllable brake magnetic field generator for generating a controllable magnetic field strength.

  • Patent number: 5669155
Abstract: A suction drum dryer, for knitted fabrics and the like, is provided with an adjustable width bellows mechanism for masking side margins of the drums not occupied by the fabric web. Ambient air draw into the suction drums is thus caused to flow substantially exclusively through the material to be processed. Significantly improved operating efficiencies are realized, as well as significantly higher production output from a given piece of equipment.

  • Patent number: 5666704
Abstract: A improved upper level de-twisting mechanism is provided to facilitate the handling of rope form fabric as it is drawn from a bulk container, typically in wet condition, and conveyed to a processing operation, such as spreading. The mechanism includes a rigid support positioned under a lifting roller and mounting a poteye through which the fabric is drawn. Three or more grooved guide rollers engage the lower flange of the poteye, supporting it for rotation about its axis. A reversible drive motor is mounted along side the poteye and drive belts are trained about the drive motor output and the grooved external contours of the poteye for controllably rotating the poteye.

  • Patent number: 5644818
Abstract: A distributing mechanism for depositing wet processed fabric in rope-form in a container. A tubular distributing guide is mounted for pivoting movement on a distributing ring rotatable about a vertical axis. Ribbed support rollers on the distributing ring are received in annular grooves in a concentric support ring, such that the distributing ring is mounted by the support ring, but is rotatable with respect thereto. The support ring itself is supported for rotation about a vertical axis. Both rings are driven by a common external drive motor, but at slightly different rotational speeds. A circular cam track, formed in the supporting ring, cooperates with a cam follower wheel carried by the distributing guide.

  • Patent number: 4254454
Abstract: A self-ventilating, enclosed, lighting device for dental, medical or the like uses having a frame of predetermined configuration with a light source mounted therein, a transparent shield mounted on and covering an open front thereof, and a light reflector mounted on the back and generally covering the open back. Inlet air passages are formed generally at the front of the device and exit air passages are formed generally at the back of the device. Airflow is created by convection heating of the air by the light source to cause an airflow into the lighting device through the inlet air passages, through the interior of the lighting device and around the light source, and out of the lighting device through the exit air passages for cooling the lighting device. The reflector is preferably pivotally mounted on the frame for being moved between an open position for access to the interior of the lighting device and a closed position during use of the lighting device.
