  • Publication number: 20130293053
Abstract: A motor including a rotor and a field frame is provided. The field frame comprises a generally annular yoke, a plurality of generally arcuately spaced apart pole pieces extending from the yoke, and a winding extending at least in part about the pole pieces. The yoke includes a plurality of pole piece connection locations. Each of the pole pieces is associated with a corresponding one of the connection locations. The pole pieces and the yoke are connected at the pole piece connection locations in an interlocking manner.

  • Patent number: 6573670
Abstract: A vending machine includes a gearmotor with feedback control allowing for the determination and control of the axial rotational position of the gearmotor's output shaft. The gearmotor has a DC motor, gear train, at least one rotation sensing mechanism and control circuitry. The rotation sensing mechanism is in operative connection with the output shaft of the gearmotor and/or the armature shaft of the motor such that the feedback provided by the sensor allows the control circuitry to determine the position of at least one of the shafts and, based on that determination, control the output of the motor to either stop rotation or produce additional rotation as necessary to properly dispense product of varying sizes based on pre-programmed data regarding the desired rotation for various products. A method for controlling the dispensing of products in a vending machine is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5692385
Abstract: An apparatus for use with a refrigeration system including a compressor for compressing a working fluid evaporated in an evaporator and condensed in a condenser. A control circuit initiates operation of a refrigeration cycle and initiates a defrost cycle in response to a defrost enable signal. The apparatus drives an air moving assembly moving air over the evaporator. A motor including a rotatable assembly is in driving relation to the air moving assembly. An energizing circuit selectively energizes the motor in response to the control circuit. A sensing circuit generates a speed/torque signal representative of a speed or a torque of the motor. A defrost initiating circuit generates the defrost enable signal when the speed/torque signal indicates that the speed is greater than a predetermined speed or the torque is greater than a predetermined torque.
