  • Patent number: 8318112
Abstract: The invention relates to a system and process for producing liquid hydrocarbons from a calcium carbonate feed-stock involving (i) liberation of a carbon dioxide gas from the heated calcium carbonate feedstock; (ii) filtering impurities from the extracted carbon dioxide of step (i); (iii) reacting the extracted carbon dioxide obtained in step (i) with a dihydrogen gas to form a methanol feedstock; (iv) isolating the cooled methanol feedstock formed in step (iii); (v) catalytically converting at least part of the methanol feedstock obtained in step (iii) at elevated temperature and pressure into aliphatic and aromatic liquid hydrocarbons; and (vi) isolating the decompressed liquid hydrocarbon product obtained in step (v).

  • Patent number: 4687428
Abstract: A body manufacturing system for manufacturing bodies for vans, trailers, trucks and the like comprises; a molding station, a glass fibre applicator, a longitudinal guide associated with each mold for guiding the glass fibre applicator along the length of each mold, a transfer device adapted to support the applicator and transport it along said guide path from one mold to another, an insert locating device for inserting side wall, end wall and roof inserts into the molds, an extraction device for extracting the molded body from the mold in which it is formed, a trimming station, a transporter for transporting the molded bodies from the mold in which they are formed to said trimming station, trimming devices in said trimming station for trimming said body to the required proportions and contour, a floor locating system for locating a floor in the upwardly open end of the body located in the trimming station to form a finished body and a righting mechanism for supporting the molded body and operable to turn it r

  • Patent number: 4384816
Abstract: In a dump truck, the most efficient way of raising the container body is to apply a lifting force to the end of the body remote from the pivot point. In some applications it is difficult to do so because of height restrictions and it is particularly difficult to do so in a telescoping container body in which the end of the container body which is remote from the pivot point moves in relation to the pivot point. The present invention overcomes this difficulty by mounting the extensible ram in a position remote from its upright position and providing a mechanism for pivoting it to its required upright position prior to its operation as a hoist. In a telescopic container body, the extensible ram is normally stored in freeboard space disposed below the front section of the container body and is raised into an upright position at the front end of the telescoped body in response to movement of the front section from its extended position to its retracted position.

  • Patent number: 4274789
Abstract: A pallet loader particularly suitable for use in loading pallets onto a truck comprises a guide structure mounted at the loading end of the truck and a slide frame slidably mounted in the guide structure and an elevator mechanism mounted at one end of the slide frame. The slide member is slidably mounted on the guide structure for movement between an extended position in which the elevator mechanism is disposed outwardly from the loading end of the truck and a retracted position in which the elevator mechanism is disposed in an overlying relationship with respect to the bed of the truck. The elevator mechanism is operable when the slide frame is in the extended position to engage and raise and lower unattached load units. The slide frame is provided with a drive mechanism for driving it longitudinally of the frame so as to move palletized load units carried thereby longitudinally onto and off of the loading end of the truck.
